I having been thinking about doing my headgaskets before its too late. I heard from a friend of mine who is good with these cars and he says the factory seal is great until it blows and says not to touch it till then. But lately I have seen many people on this board blowing them. I plan on running alky and the most boost I plan on running is maybe 21#-22#, I know the HG are usually the first to go. Should I be investing in ARP or a Felpro kit? My car has 68,xxx. Im interested in hearing what you guys think. thanks

Buy an EGT meter or wideband O2 instead.

If you want a gasket set on hand buy some GM ones yours have lasted 70K so far.

If you tune for no KR you won't need them. :)

22psi. on stock heads ain't much. ;)

Doing headgaskets isn't preventative maintenance unless you test parts by driving to detonation.

Then again some gooroos recommend that.
