I noticed when I turn on the heat/ac fan from inside the car it doesn't blow air like usual. It blows air on high speed but seems low or weak. I checked all fuses in the fuse panel everything's looks good. Any help would be a appreicated, Any ideas?

Pull fan motor and look at squirrel cage and surrounding areas to see if leaves or other material has gotten in.

I found the metal squirrel cage sold at the parts stores puts out more air than the plastic ones found in our cars. They sell the new motor/cage for a reasonable price. I think AZ was the cheapest.

Alright thx, I checked for any debris in the blower motor...It looks clean it might be the blower motor because I had a spare relay and tryed to replaced to see if that was the problem, relays good, also checked ac 25a fuse. Also now none of the (heater/ac)speeds work at all and the fan turns on/off steady and I hear a click before the fan turns on. So it's most likely the blower motor and the fan delay relay, I checked connections everything seems to be pluged in. The fan delay relay I hear u can just unplug it, and leave or replace. The blower I'II get a new one.

Fan delay relay has nothing to do with the blower motor. You might want to look at the blower motor resistor assembly, gray connector, and held on by two screws in the blower housing.

And, yes, you can leave the delay relay out of the car altogether.

I can try clean out the Connectors, Nos4gn.com(my first choice).

Does the fan act the same in both a/c and heat? Or just in the heat mode? (I'm going on memory as I loaned out my buick manual.) There is a door, controlled by a cable if manual or a bellows if electronic, that gets stuck. It redirects the air for one or the other.

O.k I replaced the heater/AC blower motor, heat is working again on all speeds and I also disconnected the fan delay relay because thought it could be a bad relay because of fan turning on/off steady clicking noise coming from the fan. Fan still turns on and stops then clicks and turns on again steady (on/off) only on the ac function's & defrost inside the car. The fan does not click on/off on heater/vent mode inside the car. Maybe it's the a/c compressor or compressor switch. I looked at the belt it's turning good on the compressor pulley and When the click comes on I can see the centre section of the compressor turn when it clicks with the fan?I have no idea

I don't have my manual to look at the circuit, but the compressor normally cycles in and out on defrost so as not to freeze the lines. The blower motor should not shut off under either condition, a/c or defrost. Even w/low gas the a/c system doesn't shut off it just passes warmer air. When you pulled the motor, did you check the switch the 3-wire connector is attached to?

The blower motor is new and working on all functions, I replaced it because the old one wasn't blowing air inside the car. The connector(power) for the blower motor I cleaned inside with connector cleaner and wires look in good shape no rips or marks. This question below has nothing to do with the blower motor/ The blower motor topic is done it's fixed.

*Why does the fan turn on/ after 10 seconds turns off then I hear a click sound and then fan turns on again then off continuously. Only on the A/C functions inside the car (why)? When the A/C & heater is OFF doesn't make a click noise, And when it's on heater/vent mode function in the car doesn't make click noise.

I'm sorry, I was getting confused w/the blower motor fan and not the radiator fan. It's thermally controlled. When you engage the defrost/a/c it can respond by kicking on the hi-spd fan, due to the load on the engine and the eng. temp at the time. When you drive the car on a hot summer day and you turn the car off and the fan is still running, it's because the thermal sw. has it on until the temp drops below the ~190* mark. So watch your fingers around the shroud in the summer months. The cars really not haunted!lol

FYI: Blower fan is for the interior of the car.
COOLANT fan is for the radiator.

Now, if the coolant fan runs when the car is turned off, this happens because of the delay relay (largest relay on the drivers side fender well). If it runs intermittently, you have yourself a bad Delay Relay.

Answer: Get rid of that relay. Remove it from the car, and never look back. It has been identified as the biggest source of electrical problems with the turbo cars.

ok thx...The coolant engine fan does not run when the engine is off. I did remove the fan delay relay, Thinking that could be the problem, no luck. The fan & compressor is still going on & off every few seconds only when set on the A/C functions in the car. Does not do it on heater/vent mode. My A/C refrigerant is low, I did a search on the internet they say that the steady fan/ compressor cycling on&off every few seconds can be caused by low A/C refrigerant charge. I'm going to recharge the A/C system and take it from there.

Low refrigerant will cause the compressor clutch to cycle on and off. The pressure switch in the high-side AC line will trigger either the low or the high speed fan, depending on the pressure points. That's probably your issue. Get the refrigerant up to speed and you're good to go.

had the same problem last summer , near the egr piece there was a small vacuum line that was cracked so i replaced it and everything worked as it should again
