I installed a wideband this past weekend in my 87 GN and it runs extremely rich (9.8:1) at WOT. During idle and highway cruising the ratio is 14.7:1. The car runs great and there is no stumbling or stalling. It is a dog at WOT. I checked for vacuum leaks and could not find any. My powerlogger comes in tomorrow so I don't have any other info right now. I am in Denver so my altitude is pretty high at 6000 feet. My setup is 60lb injectors, LT1 maf with translator, 340 Walbro, TT 5.7 chip and TE60 Turbo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Better rich than lean at WOT ;) ... anyway - since you are using the translator you can take fuel out at WOT... or from the chip itself. Just take a bit at a time... tune in small increments and keep a watchful eye on your AFR.

Yea rich is definitely better than lean. It is the basic maf translator, how do you adjust the fuel curve on it?

i believe there are knobs in the inside that can add a percentage of fuel at WOT or at Idle... havent had the regular translator in a while so you may have to refer back to your instructions but i know they are there.
Also i believe your chip has the ability to pull [or add] fuel as well - i am just not familiar with Eric's chips.

Go to the Turbo Tweak forum and download the instructions for your chip. Then pull fuel from parameter number 1. Pull 5% see where the air fuel goes.
But before that, post the plugs, wires, boost, timing and fuel you are using.

Don't know the timing yet. But it is 16 psi, R43ts plus gapped at .035, MSD plug wires and 91 octane fuel. Turned down the base fuel pressure from 43 to 40 and that helped it lean out slightly.

Turn the fuel pressure back up.
Are those the red, 8mm wires?
The chip burned for you car or did you pick it up used?

Ok, pull 5% of wide open throttle fuel and see if it gets better. Stop when it stays at 10.6-10.7.
Does the rpm climb in high gear or lay flat?

The RPM does climb in high gear as far as I know. Haven't noticed it bogging or anything
