Not going to mention the name until I get a poll from you guys.
Lets say you are selling some shifters for an X amount of money. I then ask you, are they in working condition? What would you expect to get in the mail shifters that work or shifters with no shift buttons and with none of the interior components. Let me ad he replies with "the shifters are in working condition". Please respond!

And cosmetics are two different things .both seem a little vague . I would of asked if it were operational with all hardware and cosmetics.. Dont really think this helps you tho .sometimes its in the fine print and you dont have any .. Get a very clear idea of what your buying by asking lots of ? And tell seller what your looking for ..

My roommate is the same way, hes a shista...He sold car that we spent all weekend fixing and instead of saying hey just a heads up the car has xyz wrong with it and i would keep an eye on this that and the other thing. Nope sold it as a runner that needs work on craigslist.Guy bought it on friday, sat over the weekend, trans blew out on monday going to work. My roommate replaced the trans twice in this thing and never even mentioned it to them. The only thing that saved him was the shista part. The bill of sale was worded so perfectly that he walked away knowing it was **** and the people buying the car thought it was an official bill of sale. It was worded saying such things as "seller not responsible for things he may or may have not known" and "buyer understands that vehicle needs work." Pretty much when the car broke down and they called him up, he said im sorry to hear that but you signed the bill of sale so its not my problem.

Sorry to rant but in your case I think it comes down to this guy is a scum bag and screwed you over but I wouldnt say scammed. Hes an a$$ for advertising it differently knowing what was going to be shipped wasnt the same.

First thing to do is contact him and talk to him but be civil, maybe their was a mistake. he may have all the pieces and to keep a positive trader rating send them to you for cheap. Keep me updated on what happens with everything

Ok maybe not scammed but, no hold up, yeah i think i was scammed! i asked him are they in working condition. he said yes, and all I get is damn shells of the shifters. thats bull****! How do shifter shells work?!
I told him that I wanted my money back because they are not in working condition. He replied that he has been selling crap here for 10 years and would not try to pull a fast one on anybody. Well buddy you certainly have but thanks and you can keep the frieken money hope your GN breaks down in the middle of the Texas desert you prick! sorry just had to air this out.
Does G-body or any other vendor sell you just the shell of a shifter? Thank you for your polls.

Pics of what you were getting would have helped a lot here. Therefore you weren't scammed. If you had asked for pics and received less than you were seeing in the pics I'd say you were ripped off

like Bison stated, if u got pics and the item was not as described in the pics then id say have been have scammed. a shifter and a complete working shifter with hardware are two different things however.

post his info. he knew what he was doing and got over on u period.

when i am selling a shifter you get a shifter !!!!!! not the whole frigging thing??? were you buying a shifter with the shifter handle???? have you ever bought a part from the dealership???? when you buy a shifter handle from them it is totally stripped and you have to buy all the componets seperately .


so my guess is you got what you paid for and did not get screwed by anybody .

again to me it sounds like you got you paid for. You were looking for a shifter in working condition and it sounds like thats what you got!!! You should of asked if the seller was including the handle or if it was extra.

I usually get $50 for a good used unbroken shifter
a additional $50 for a complete unbroken used shifter handle.
And this does not include a shifter cable,shifter bezel or console

like brett and bison said a pic would of helped in this situation. Call this a cheap learning lesson and move on unless you got raped on the shifter

WoW !! I guess I better clear the air here. First off you that know me in the Buick community know that I wouldn't sell a blemed nos part without telling you up front. Sure is funny that this is the FIRST !! time I've heard anything about this and I sold these to gntim ALONG time ago. My policy is and always has been if for any reason you are not satisfied with ANY of my parts I'll give you ALL your money back and pay the shipping back also. I NEVER heard one word about these vents til now?????

No, you should start your own thread as this was the way this forum was initiated, and would know that if you would read the above thread.

Mike has been around long before you have been, and is NOT a scammer, so you need to be careful before you accuse someone of that.

If you are asking for my phone number, it is always in my signature as I do not need hide behind a "bogus" screen name.

If you want to start a pissin' contest over this, I am SURE you will be the looser, so best to chill out, as I was just explaining the proper procedure to you.

I've been at this Buick game for 20 years and have sold lots of nos stuff. There is NO way the chrome was PEELING off those vents but for your sake lets say it was WHY didn't you just get ahold of me WAY back then?? You know I like to treat people the way I like to be treated but I find this VERY immature on your part. You know I've always said on here I value my name and reputation a hell of alot more than anyones $5 - $50 or even thier $5000. In fact it's been so long ago I do remember selling those but can't remember when for sure or even for how much. If Mike was to ever misrepresent something I would say that he over delivered on what he advertises for sale. When he says mint I dont need a picture as his mint is....well .....mint. I seriously dont believe he would ever KNOWINGLY sell substandard NOS parts. If the box was sealed I could understand bad parts being inside, but otherwise NO WAY.
I do not know Mike personally, have never met him so I am not some friend of his making a statement to cover for him. Just my honest opinion.

You know this guy (GNTIM) has me wondering as I even got a PM from him and he still claims that two of them had flaking chrome on them and for the life of me I really can't remember looking at them again when I sold them to him and he says it was 5 years or so ago. I had those things for years and I KNOW when I first got them they were mint and I still find it very strange that he never said ANYTHING about them til now. In fact TIM here's the deal for everyone to see, I have a set of absolutely excellent used ones (in fact you'll play hell telling them from new ones) you can have if you want them and I'm telling you they are nice. Tim I know I said I was done with you but I don't like things ending up with bad feelings. If you'd like pics. of these used ones I can send you some. as i see it. no you didn't get ripped off. you now know to ask for pictures and questions. while the buyer could say "blank and blank isn't included" that kinda gets old. if i buy a steering wheel, i don't expect the horn unless it says it's included.

I can see where you are coming from. but historically internet buying and selling has its own ins and outs- this is one of them. Most people get caught offguard by this pretty early and learn. it's slick, but not really deceiving- (ex. was it shifter for sale, or complete shifter for sale).

after a pondering of it, you do have a point about asking if it worked. and if i bought a working shifter, i would expect all of the shifter at least (maybe not the handle and button though).
