Shift/govenor problems

So i threw the govenor spring off of our gn. It still shifted ok, but got on the rev limiter before it shifted 1-2/ So we called Mike kurtz at century(he built it) he sent us some new springs. I yanked the pan off, pulled the govenor, pulled the hurt springs, put new ones in and now, the car will not go into low gear unless i do it manually. It shifts through the gears great manually. But, it will not shift or go into low on its own.

What if you put the selector in 1st? Try backing the TV off a click or 2.
