hey folks, been lurking & reading for some time, gotta question now so I finally joined
The car is actually an 89 caprice however it does have the 2004r. I had to open it up due to a sticking TCC and a late hard 1-2 shift. I found that looked to be caused by a broken 1-2 accumulator spring. Both the spring & TCC have been repalced by CK performance units. I also installed a B&M transpack while I was in there.
After all this I have recieved some undesirable results. The car will shift into second at 35mph only, third at 55 & fourth at 65. Throttle position has no effect, except that the shifts are mushy at WOT & firm at part. TV cable adjustments have no affect either.
The extra acelleration from the late shifts are nice, however this being a family car I would like them to be a bit more towards the stock points (I can't afford the gas with the prices here in cali anyways).
I was hopin some of you gurus might have a few words of advice as I've torn it back apart twice with the same results, and the fluid is getting expensive
As of right now the B&M kit is set up at just the heavy duty setting, the pressure regulator valve & spring are the only mods with the exception of the drilled seperator plate holes. The 1-2 accumulator spring was much more heavy duty than stock, and the 3-4 spring was replaced in the opposite direction than it had been taken out, as instructed by the B&M instructions.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
