Oh plus playing football, Pipefitting for 20 years, guess I am shot now .Sucks getting old :biggrin:But I always felt lower body strength made me gain way more ,made me stronger squats, leg press,hacks.....

i can't bench for crap but i can do 115,60 with my triceps,430 with my legs i never deadlifted before but brian should be the strongest when it comes to that.

Being a smaller guy, I was always more interested in percentages. ie' benching 2x your body weight, curling 1x your body weight, deadlifting 3x, etc.. I run about 170lbs and can bench 320, curl 140, deadlift 445.

Guys who weigh 275, and bench 450 just dont impress me.

its in my blood

i was t-boned a couple years ago by a drunk mexican in oakland. i was in the passenger seat of a 95 honda accord sleeping:( and he was driving 2004 yukon xl on 26"s:eek: he broke every bone in my body on the right side, pushed my shoulder in about 3 inches and punctured my lungs with my broken ribs:mad: doctor said if it was anyone under 230 ilb would of gotten crushed to death and lucky i was sleeping. in one year i put on 100 pounds. i am fully recovered now but i weigh 330:( started at the gym in september. BENCH PRESS 3 SETS 10 REPS 365 ILBS NOT IN GOOD ENOUGH SHAPE YET TO SQUAT OR DEADLIFT I AM NATURALLY STRONG

Imo you should have asked what is the biggest lifts you have done that are official lifts or video evidence of gym lifts. Its a lot different in a contest when you have 3 judges watching. A lot of guys guys gym lifts would be red lighted.

Maybe. Maybe not. You would be suprised at some of the monsters that are out there. Billy T has some tremendous strength.

You should be using the formulas to compare yourself to other lifters. Not %. As you gain weight and get stronger you will reach a point where your % over weight will naturally taper down compared to what you weigh.

Formula calculator for Wilk's:
Wilks Formula Calculator
For those that want to see the formula:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilks_Coefficient

450@275=116.337
340@170=107.382

The Wilks formula is for male lifters and is no joke. It is very accurate for comparing lifters based on actual weigh in weights. As you can see by the formula it is much more difficult to bench 450@275 which is much less than double body weight than it is to bench 340@170 which is double body weight. You would have to bench 367lbs@170 to be able to beat that lifter in an official contest. Typically the formulas are only used to determine the best lifter in heavyweight(>198) and lightweight(<198). There are many weight classes that go up to 308lbs. After that you are a super heavyweight. The top guys in each of those classes look like a piece of steel.

Out of the 3 lifts you mentioned the deadlift will best show a persons strength. I didnt vote because i believe there is a lot more to strength than what you have in the poll though. With the deadlift there is little room to deny what has been done since the eccentric part of the lift is only given after the lifter has completed the deadlift and there is very little stretch reflex involved. It uses many more muscles to the extreme than a bp or squat does. Equipment has much less of an effect on it also. The only way you will ever be a good deadlifter is by deadlifting. No one comes in untrained and can even come anywhere close to the national or world class numbers. It takes them several years of smart training to even get within 90%.
