You think parts are expensive for Buicks you say???
I just ordered a Limited slip diff for the E55,
Cost me 1350 bucks just for the Diff!!!!
and 180 bucks for a 180 T-Stat!!!
so stop bitching about prices!! :D

order parts for a 40 year old John Deere tractor and the prices of even the most expensive car parts seems like a bargain.

lol I hear yah otto, I just repaired a 2002 I think it was mits montero for a woman here that smashed her front fender. For the fender and trim on it alone was 1000 bucks for parts, MY PRICE as a body shop. Remind me never to buy one of them ! Daniel

I totally agree...

Owning a used car dealership I have to buy parts for all brands of cars... Imagine a freakin brain box to control the windows in a minivan, $800+ Don't even think about it if you have to go into the motor:eek:

Agreed!!!!!!

Price a 7.3 pwrstroke....or a 6.9 Cummins...or the transmission out of a 08 Toyo Avalon.....or the computer out of a 07 Navigator...

I promise paying Cal, Don, Lonnie the price that they ask is REALLY cheap when you put everything in perspective.

I don't wholesale alot of trade-ins these days. There are alot of people out there in a bind looking for cheap cars and they sell quickly. What's funny....is that people will go drive a $800 car and then come try to negotiate repairs!!!...on a $800 car!!!!! I paid $5800 for the last four wheeler (quad for the yanks:biggrin: ) that I bought....

Everything always costs too much. People want to save 20 bucks and don't really care if the business they are dealing with goes out of business or not....as long as THEY get a deal....

Chris,

I love the ones that come in and want a clean good running good on gas car for $1500...

I kindly point to my 50cc scooters in the showroom and tell them to take their pick:biggrin:

I got a girl that has worried me to pieces over a $5995 explorer. I spent all the profit I made fixing it for her because she was a single mom etc... Got it right and find out she went to another shop claiming it was ticking:mad: I told my manager to tell her to park it and I would give her money back... She can't even go buy a freakin 4 wheeler for that, I am sick of it:mad:

I have a "pat" line when people pick a cheapazz car to death....

"You're right, this prolly aint the car for you, but its the nicest one I have in your price range. Thanks for shopping with me, have a great day"

I almost got fired years ago when I was selling. This lady was griping...on and on.... about some scratches on the hood of a $1000 car. I told her I wasn't gonna charge her extra for them...than took they key out of my pocket and raked it across the hood and told her she would even get that one for FREE!!!

She didn't buy.:frown: :p

The boss didn't think that it was as funny as I did.

Do people still drive mini vans?

My neighbor had her tank syphened out of her tank a couple of weeks ago. They had to break the door off to get to the gas cap.
New gas door $700
Paint matching $300
Volvo's are expensive to I guess.

LMAO! THAT is funny! :D

buy american

While I understand the point you are trying to make, that kind of blind loyalty is what allowed GM, Ford, and Chrysler to make and sell the pieces of **** they did from the late 70's through the 90's

U.S. car company replacement parts are reasonable.
Japanese at least 2x U.S for same type of part.
German built 3-5x U.S. price.
No big deal though.

Door panel for a VW Toureg (suv) 1000 dollars comes without any of the trim or arm rest:eek:

The cladding on a syclone/typhoon is insane. Thats the problem with rare vehicles though ... thats the only time I have freaked on car part prices ---

So we should fund foreign governments with American money ?

Big deal if it has to go to the dealer.....

That's because most are made in China

Your a fuc king jack ass. U.S. made cars have the highest % of U.S. made parts in them. Next time you go to a dealership you can look at the invoice and find out what % of parts come from where. Had to go to GM for a set of non chinese rotors for my daily driver. No one else could come up with them but GM
