I just opened the box with my parts and they look Great! However I looked at the invoice and paid 49.95 for a part advetised on their site for $30.00. I was going to buy more stuff today but after calling them and asking could something be done they said no, we see the wrong price posted too, sorry, have a good weekend!

Wow, I had great transactions with them. Very polite, fast shipping, even drop shipped my lifters to RPE for me when they clearly state they only ship to the billing address on the credit card.
They should have honored the price listed in my opinion though.

Bryan

They changed it now LOL. Its been listed that way for a while but I just reached the point where I needed them. Oh well...check prices over the phone in the future.

I have had similar situations with web sites, so your comment is great advise. :)

Here is a quote from the TA web site like most others also state:

"Sales and Ordering Policy

All prices are subject to change without notice. Arizona residents must add sales tax to all purchases. Terms are COD, unless prepaid with your order. MC/Visa, certified checks, cashiers check, money orders, and personal checks accepted (please allow 10 days for personal checks to clear) as payment. Credit card orders are subject to a handling fee. All shortages must be reported within 5 days of receipt of order. Claims for shipping damages must be filed with delivering carrier. No special order parts are returnable. Returned parts are subject to a 15% restocking fee."

I dunno about all the ins & outs of website maintenance but this doesn't seem right to me Nick. Of course, it's good advice to check the prices when ordering, but in fairness if I see a price advertized on a site I expect that to be the price...in fact it may be the determining factor in which site I choose to order from.

If TA decides to keep their policy in place then my suggestion would be that it should be MANDATORY that the TA sales guy taking the order should read back each individual price and the total to the customer ordering if done by phone. If an internet sale then my opinion is what is advertized should be the price...only excluding obvious mistakes.

If I were the buyer I too would be upset.

So there is my unsolicited input :)

Regards, Bob Kolhouse

I've ordered from them and got top notch products, however it is kinda crazy that they would risk bad publicity for $15.

Sorry Bob, but I have to respectfully disagree with you.

Guess I am too "old fashioned", but I strongly believe in personally responsibility, and not just rely on a person, and especially not a web posting, when I am spending my $$$.

Many small companies like TA do not have, and cannot afford, a full time IT manager. This is why many sites do NOT have a shopping cart or direct ordering, the customer must call to order.

I have been burned myself when quoting a price to a customer, and find my supplier price has increased. In this case, how can I blame the customer when I did not check first?

I do agree the sales person should review the order and price, but if they do not, you should ask. :)

Well that's why they make different makes and colors of cars...we all have different viewpoints :)

To me it is the company's responsbility to insure the pricing they are advertising is correct. In this case it was $20 more...but that $20 is a 60% increase...pretty substantial to the customer.

Bob

i ordered one of thier front covers and billet oil pump set ups for my new stage2 build -very well packaged but the gears would not even turn by hand, had mny machinist completely go through it- for $700.+ i expected alittle more.

You know, Nick.. I hope you dont take this wrong but everyone knows youre Mike's buddy so being here advocating for him just makes you look bad.

At the very least TA should have called the dude instead of just charging his card whatever they felt like. OP, Id submit a credit card dispute over it. You'll win. It costs small businesses way too much to dispute credit card charges and they almost always lose. Credit card companies are notoriously loyal to consumers.

In my small business I would almost always honor the lower price. Better to lose afew dollars and make up for it in goodwill

So Nick you hold the buyer up to the standard of personal responsibility but do not hold the seller up to those same standards? Very interesting. That company advertised that price. Are they not responsible for the prices that are posted on their site? That disclaimer is a BS way to cover up laziness or worse.

I agree that the price should be honored. I was in the car business for over 23 years and I always honored my prices, even if I was offered more after I made a deal. Call me old fashioned if you want. There is way too much of this going on out there.I can tell you all kinds of similar incidents. Although, I might add, I've ordered from TA and had no problems. But for what it's worth, Mike, honor your price. It isn't worth the bad reviews.
