Some of you know Ted Wayman the creater of the M&A Cylinder head (now the TA head). He has always been into Buicks. He bought this car from me 9 years ago (blue T-Type) and swore me it was not going to get crazy like his race car did and it would be a street car only, 9 years later it is done (he built a couple other cars during this time too). Ted is strictly a stick shift guy all the way so of course it got a Lenco trans and he also had some BBC stuff around so he built a big inch twin turbo (help and cam from Kenny D.) engine. Kenny claims it will make 1000 HP at 10 PSI on pump gas, should be a fun ride. And YES he will drive it around. It is going on the Dyno this week I will try to report some numbers. FYI His race car is a C5 ZO6 with a C5R motor complete with Kinsler IR fuel injection sticking out of the hood, huge brakes and a wing that raced at the 24 hrs of LeMans on it, it is BAD ASS, 600 HP at the wheels N/A on the most conservative dyno I know.

Ted Wayman's Buick

Enjoy,
Mike

That is the sweetest looking car I've ever seen. I'm jealous, man that thing is absolutely beautiful. I bet it runs like a raped ape too!

Very nice. But that color reminds too much of another car. I can see it now at the track people saying "Is that Cottons car?"

I doubt they will mistake this for jacks car. This a more of a burnt orange metallic, the pictures do not do it justice and the fire behind the wheels is a nice touch too. Speaking of the wheels Ted made them in his foundry and machined them in his machine shop.

Crappy cell phone picture of the ZO6 on it way to get the wing installed

Is that a Lenco? Killer ride for sure. Ur right, it's more of a burnt orange but from the stands it might be a little harder to tell. I actually do like that color quite a bit.

Yep a Lenco he is stick shift guy I have never known him to have an automatic trans car. His old mid 60's modified production vette had a big block and a muncie 4 speed he drove to low 9's

Wow, I remember talking to Ted about 15 years ago when I had a set
of heads on order. He was a really nice guy.
The car looks like a lot of fun!

Any chance M&A will produce Buick stuff in the future?

Nope, the heads, intake manifold and all other Buick Products were sold to TA Performance. Ted is making wheels mostly these days, quite a few for high end race cars and vintage racing. He is still casting lots of mag parts but I do not think there is enough Buick market to make molds for parts these days, especially in this economy.

Incredibly sweet car. Holy crap. I do kinda just a little bit wish he would have put a stage motor in it. Nonetheless, it is a functional work of art.

Mike, i still have the M&A heads that i bought from you a long time ago,
they never cracked,
they have been collection dust for a long time,
good luck oc,,

Cool Ride

I met Ted and George Montgomery at an Indy Lights race back 96-97 here at Hutchinson Island, Sav Ga. Both really stand up guys to chat buicks with.:)

Did Ted ever take this beast to the dyno? It would be cool to know how powerful it is. Any chance we could get a few (or a lot) more pics?
