Running some 37lb Lucas injectors I got from Jack Cotton YEARS ago to go with my TA49. Running a Translator Plus with the LS1 MAF. Have an Extender chip for alky that is probably about 7 years old.

Time to upgrade a bit. My racing days are over (might be different if there was a track closer) but do like to occasionally do some "spirited"
driving on the street here and there.

I only tune using a Scanmaster and 02's can run down in the 740's with the alky spraying at about 24 lbs of boost with no knock registering on the SM. (this was with my old DIY alky kit using 50/50 isopropyl and distilled water) Have since upgraded to the alkycontrol.com kit using straight methanol.

Totally stock unopened 28K motor, stock location IC, 3" downpipe, no cat, dual 2.5" exhaust

Am I pushing it on these injectors or just leave well enough alone?

If you don't want to go any faster, leave the injectors that you have now. I noticed my fuel milage got worse once I went from 55lb to 83lb injectors.

What's your duty cycle? If you do upgrade, might as well go straight for the 60 Mototrons. Good for 10's and idle very well. Replaced a set of 55's with them and it was a night and day difference in idle.

right now leave it they way it is. my brother is running mid 11's on 42.5 with alky and still has alot of injector left. you will be fine since you got razors alky and that will help lower your duty cycle.

No mention at all of duty cycle!
So how would you know if you need to up-grade?

Now that you just installed Razors Alky kit, did you know that by doing so you actually lowered your injector duty cycle?

If you don't race and just do your spirited little bursts your fine!

If you just feel like spending more money on some injectors, 60lb mototrons as mentioned above would be my choice...

he is only runnning a scanmaster so he has no way of knowing. with what he has he will be fine as you will probley see a 5-10% decrease in injector duty cycle depending how much he sprays. but i do agree if you do want to spend the money and go bigger just get the 60's and be done with it.

60's are nice and they have nice streetable characteristics.

Yeah I know he mentioned that he had scanmaster in the car but wasn't sure if he or anyone else put a direct scan on it to check the duty cycle. My bad!

I have F.A.S.T logs showing the injector duty cycle differance with & without alky.
Without = 84.7%
With alky = 70.2%

Why upgrade??

Your ride is very nice the way she sits just leave her alone those Lucas injectors work well. She runs well and she don't hiccup on that occasional WOT blast no need for 60's unless your babe needs a bigger hairdryer..;)

Dual nozzle, 27psi boost, 93 pump gas.. (that was with my old car & set up)

Leave it alone If its on the verge of lean at WOT Just add a second Alky Nozzle

I also vote leave it alone. Do your 24lb test with the progressive alky & see where your o2's are. You have the extender and t+ so you already have all kind of options for tuning.

+1 on what's your duty cycle.

I ran over my 36lbs at only 23psi on single Meth injection, I was pretty surprised to say the least.

Yeah, guess without using DirectScan or a powerlogger I am flying on the blind side. I just feel so inadequate when people ask what injectors I am running and tell them 37lbs:biggrin: Guess I could always fib.:)

Mark its not the size of the injector ...its how you use it.:D

Leave them alone
Mark,I haven't installed my powerlogger and Scanmaster upgrade yet.
It's On my other ECM so we could install your chip into it put it in the car to check things out.
But if you need more I agree with Otto, second ALKY nossle.
Cheap, save gas got it when you want.
