I have TCI manual valvebody reverse pattern. It worked fine about five races
then the rear band melted.
The car is a Camaro 69 427 street car, best et 11,98.
The shiftings where firm on the street, and good on the track.
I had about 30 runs on track.

band clearance too tight,improper assembly,leak in circuit,poor lining.etc

Chris is most likely correct that the band adjustment was too tight.

The reaction carriers are almost always chewed up on the TH400's. I machine 90% of the ones I do. I machined 4 reaction carriers yesterday.

Install a new GM band and machine the reaction carrier smooth, then set band adjustment properly and you'll be set.
