This is my first post so please bear with me. I have an 87 T-type with a TA 52 turbo, bluetops, walbro fuel pump, race chip, smc alky, and 3" downpipes to a 2.5" exhaust. I was starting to get some engine vibration and took it into a local shop. They looked at it and determined transmission problems- "bolts loose, damaged pump and convertor, etc." What type of transmission do I need? Should I go with a rebuild kit or purchase a transmission like the one you have listed here? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This trans will work excellent for your application if it is in your budget.Ihave put out some excellent updates in calibration over the last year and am having great success with the 2004r transmission in basic and extreme duty applications. There are several mid 10 and mid 9 second cars running our combinations. We are doing some behind the scenes work ith an 8 second ride.Vast improvements over the older calibrations. If you need any suggestions feel free to email me your # and I will assist you with information, parts,or a transmission if you need one.

Welcome aboard. Chris does the members on here right and offers deals like this. If you need a tranny he's one of the best to get one from and he will tell you what you need. Call him and talk for a while to make sure some one gave you the right info.Yes Chris I'm a cheerleader for you stuff. lol

Just installed one in my car. I bought it as a spare however it worked so well I will leave it in. Calibration is nice. Positive shifts but not harsh like it wants to break the windshield at part throttle or downshifts. Last night at the track it handled everything I gave it in a full weight steel GN.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your comments. What other parts are needed for a typical rebuilt transmission installation? The flywheel still looks good. Does that have to be replaced too? How about the forward drum and drive shaft? Do they have to be stronger to handle the transmission? Any other parts or kits?

His stage 1 has the billet forward shaft. The stock driveshaft is a no no if a trans brake is used. Otherwise its fine down to about 1.50 60'.

What do you have to do as far as a driveshaft bison? I was thinking about using a trans brake so any info would be appreciated.

Find a machine shop that builds drive shafts and have them build you a oversized aluminum one with heavy duty U-joints. And..........don't get a local tranny shop to build or rebuild you a transmission for this car. Get one of the vendors on here to help you and you won't be disappointed. They know what is required to make them last and will do it. Most local shops just want to get you out the door. Ask me how I know.
Good luck with your car.

I have a DynoTech aluminum. Its good to high 1.30's. I believe Jason White had one in his TSM car and had many passes on it. Ill be switching to a chrome moly when i out the S2.

So pretty much go with a heavier duty shaft and joints is all I'd have to do then?

Have another unit left.ORIGINAL BRF valve body,CK BILLET SERVO,NEW AC DELCO FRONT PUMP..555 BOOST VALVE,ALTO WIDE BAND,BOTTOM FEED FILTER PICKUP,in car tested ,approximately 100 miles .shifts wot @ 5400

Hi Chris,

I'm back again and still without a transmission. I'm still looking for the right price and fit for my set-up. :D In my original post I put that I had a TA 52. I only have a TA 49 turbo. How does either one of these transmissions fit into my set up that I posted earlier? Thanks.

I would have to say that I am probably the only NM cheerleader. I use Chris' parts and when I call, Michelle knows who I am. YAY!!! CK!!! ;)
