I thought it would be neat to have a thread about turbo's that went bad!
So let's see those pictures of turbo's that went bad.

My stocker just went bad...but nothing hideous...just lost the seal on the turbine side so oil was blowing into the exhaust stream and making me smoke a lot. I pulled the turbo and there was about 1/16" of end play on the turbine wheel.

So....I've got a TA61 on the way along with a THDP to replace my stock down pipe.:biggrin:

Pt-53,don't know what happened.It went bang and killed every Mosquito in Northeast Ohio.

Speaking of 50 series turbos Type in reds hot air I think he ate 3 in a few days.

Not as bad as some...but it did hurt the wallet. Freaking Innovative went out of business right before this happened. Getting it fixed was going to cost the price of a new one:frown:

I was boosting 22# when my PT54 exhaust wheel broke into a bunch of pieces on the freeway and covered the S8 I was racing in smoke. Ill try and find pics, it definitely was nowhere close to the carnage of Otto's pics.

I can't find my pics but mine was a stock hotair turbo that looked a lot like 10secvega's turbo. :frown:
