I got a helluva deal on this turbo, that i couldnt say no to it:D. The seller was in a financial pinch and gave me a deal on it.
The seller stated its a T60-1, it has less than 100 miles on it, with billet rear plate, the exhaust port is larger too.
Im not a turbo savant..lol, but I am looking to eventually put it on my car.
Can someone look at the photos and determine if its a TA, TE,T, T60-1,T61,T60.
the photos say garrrett 60, hopefully the photos can tell you more...
Also what stall should i need with this turbo...thanks in advance

the compressor is a 60-1 for sure, but the turbine looks like a T350 with its curved, 10 blades. I think its a TE52, would help if you got some measurements

mostly just the diameter of the turbine wheel, to be sure what one it is. just need a rough measurement to figure it out

Trouble id'n turbo too

What should the measurements of a stock 86/87 turbo be? Not meaning to jack this thread but I have sorta the same problem, garrett housing 50mm on inlet side and 52mm on exhaust side, housing exit that hooks into the intake(hot air set up) manifold is 52mm od and 43mm id this is a hot air car and I believe prev owner tried to install this 86/87. can anyone confirm those measurements so I know what I have on my table?

Click on the second link in my sig. It has the measurments in it but you'll need to do some reading. I don't remember which post it was.

It is a PT51. 58mm compressor, the same as a TA49 and TE44. T350 exhaust wheel.

mine? or the original posters? I'm guessing the original poster cause I just read that a pt51 with a t350 should be supported with a 2800 stall converter and minimum 42.5 injectors, and my car has none of that stuff, its stock converter and stock injectors, and that would mean that I'd probably have a good bit of lag and go lean once I did get the boost up.

The turbo I asked about in my above post spools incredibly fast, and I could get over 20 psi out of it and my boost gauge is t'd into the manifold vacuum port. The housing is garrett and matches pictures posted of an 86/87 stock housing, number of fins on each side matches 87 stock and upon looking appear to be same pitch, it was the measurements I was unsure of, so anyone know what the stocker should measure on each side? Should I post pictures?

I read thru all 7 or 8 pages and couldn't find it, could be due to my turbo noobness, I just don't feel like I have a clue about what I'm looking at now that it's off the car.

You're right. I thought it was in there. I'll see about measuring the wheels this weekend for you if you want. I just need to dig them up and do it for you.
