Guys...i'm considering a turbo purchase. I have a Turbomotion V2 kit enroute....and my motor is pretty much stock (see Signature). What does everyone else upgrade to after the V2 install ? Since the TB moves to after the turbo I guess this is a consideration....(TE or TA turbo)

What are you guys using....TA49 ? Or bigger ? I'm gonna be mostly on the street...daily summer driver etc. I want to keep good drivability......

Looking for suggestions here......

Seeing as it looks like you don't have a higher stall converter or bigger injectors, a TA-49 or TE-44 might be be about right. The best combo for a nice street cruiser would probably be the 49 or 44, 36# injectors and a 2800 stall converter. Thats one of the old school combos for the 86/7 cars and will translate over great to cars with the v2 on it.

Not sure on the difference btwn a TE and a TA - is it simply the inlet bell ?

Did any of you guys require and special mods (hood clearance, mounting etc) to install one of the turbos mentioned above ?

I don't want to get too carried away with heavy modification just to get a bigger turbo mounted or anything...

Those turbos' fit but the wastegate may cause some aggrevation. Mine rubbed on the underside of the hood - back to an external gate for me.

hey

well with my old ta-49 i had to make custom brakets and cut the housing and the adapter and make this werid piece. now im buying a ta-54 and im having a guy make a custom piece so it works good. i would just talk to persion and see what they can hook you up with. probley just a ta-33. not sure when she runs out of steam

brent:mad:

I'd say if your looking for still daily drivable... I'd go with like a PT51 or PT52 from precision... same drivability as a 49 but more powerful :) With the V2 setup there should be no extra mods that will have to be done other than maybe actuator fitment.. other than that, bolt on..

Just my .02...

Guys, I spoke with Jay awhile ago....he said that the V2 kit was built for and external wastegate application.

I will probably upgrade turbo, wastegate and add V2 at the same time this spring.

So if I install a Deltagate or whatever...what do you do with the actuator vacuum lines for the original wastegate actuator ? They get plugged or run to the new wastegate or what ?
