Been able to wipe the smile from your face yet Michael?

There's a new meaning for tri-power. Cottons, RPE, and Turbonetics.

LOL! I never did ask you what your screen name was on this site. Your right I still have a smile on my face, it's like a dream. Now all we have to do is turn up the boost on the "tri-power" and see where she'll take us! I was talking to Jack friday afternoon about all the saftey stuff we are going to need, and I am getting a physical next week for my license. I really want to run Aug 30-31 at e-town.

Thanks, dyno time is scheduled in approx. 2 weeks and then Test n tune August 22nd. A high 9sec pass would be sweet! My old combo with a stock bottom end, GN1s and a GTK66BB netted a 10.8 @ 20#boost, this one "feels" faster at 15# and I haven't even floored it yet! :D

Datar

Have you been to the dyno (or track) yet?

Here's a late update to Mike N's GTK72 powered car..... went to Etown Labor day weekend and Mike made his license runs.... I'll just say we gave it a little more boost on his last license run and the car responded with a 9.65@139.9mph.... NHRA legal!!! Not bad for a stock block 109.. Congrats Mike!! Now we can do some tuning and turn up the boost.....

Nice!! I sure hope that someday my car will be close to that quick (but first it has to be able to move without a truck and trailer:frown: ).

That's impressive to say the least! What's a little more boost Jack? Care to share?

Hey, Jack, just was wondering, do you by chance know what headers are on that car? The GTK is a four bolt right? Are they custom, modded ATR's, TA's.... Just wondering.

We figure conservatively, 6-7lbs, if we want to push it.... maybe more. It all depends on how it responds and how deep into the 9's it goes..

If I remember correctly they were an old KB round port header.... yuk.. we cleaned and squared the ports off the best we could.

So what's one of those Turbo's list for Jack?

Btw, I was looking at Brians DP he made for that car. Wow, he has really got making DP's down to a science now huh? Very nice. I am considering having him do mine over the winter when I switch to a 4 bolt. I'm kinda liking that Turbo as well.

That APPEARS to be a chinese 3.5 downpipe that was modified,But I could be wrong.

Otto, why would you make such a ridiculous statement. You are wrong and I do take offense to that. Must you make a negative remark to anything related to me, I thought that chit was behind us, that's twice in a week.. But, I will add, if I had some of them THDP style Chinese DP's it would make it easier to make a custom DP.... unfortunately, I believe the material is thin and junk, so I don't see that happening. :D The SS we use cost me well over $300.00 to purchase plus at least a days worth of labor.

By the way, I just looked at the pictures of Mike's DP, there is nothing that looks like the polished, cheap Chinese matarial used for the THDP. With your experience in using them, I see no reason for that statement by you, other than.........

Jack that was not meant as a shot at all. That is why I said APPEARS in capitol letters.Maybe it was the flash from the camera that made me think that.Maybe someone polished it after it was done?
I know Brian makes great downpipes,But that is how it APPEARED in a picture.
I had one of those 3.5" pipes and actually the steel was pretty heavy.

I cant even believe you took the bulletin board remarks as negative.
You know that chit is way past us.

You sure you were looking at the right car? Here is a few pics of my engine bay. There was someone else on this thread that was running this turbo. There was a link posted for my car to Jack's site. Believe me I bought everything from Jack and I am sure there are no "Chinese" knock-offs in my vehicle.

95' regal gs, I have an older set of ATR headers that Brian had to do alot of cleanup work on and rewelding to get them up to snuff again. We used a 3 to 4 bolt adapter for the exhaust housing. We had to use 2 spacer plates for the plenum so the 4 inch pipe would clear the intercooler pipe.
