Sorry I did not mean to dis you but those vids looks bad for your cars.. The other cars let off and you guys stayin into it and called em wins.. Do you really think a modded C5 will not get by you top end?? An LS6 modded C5 should be a 165-175 mph car. Your cars are fast and i have always loved sho's but that vid did not do your cars justice..
No hard feelings..
Again Frank, the other cars NEVER LET OFF. I ( the camera car) let off first in every race I did. I do not understand what you mean by 'you guys'. All races were filmed from my turbo SHO. The first race was the Lightning, and I passed him decidedly. He never lifted. The second race was against one of the supercharged SHO's. Again, I let off first once I had about a car on him. The third race was against the Vette. The Vette even started in 2nd gear (to my 3rd). While he grabbed about half a car through second, and perhaps a couple of feet when I grabbed 4th (he was still in 3rd), as soon as he shifted to 4th you can see the tables clearly turn in the SHO's favor. He NEVER LIFTED, not until he screams by me after I let off due to traffic. Had the raced went further, I would have only pulled more. I simply can not see why you think that either the L or the Vette lifted. While a modded C5 may be good for 175, I have no doubt I am good for 175. I have had the car to 165+ a number of times, and it was not slowing down. What can I say? I raced a stock 405hp Z06, and the higher the speeds went the more the race went in my favor (we went 160+). And of course, no hard feelings. It is only cars we are talking about.

still dont get it
get a fender and let out is a win?
400-500 horsepower and only 115 MPH?
i dont want to be rude, but alot of heavier cars with less horsepower trap higher MPH....
if these cars are such great top end cars, wouldnt they MPH more in the 1/4?
cause we all know MPH reflects how much horsepower you have!
peace

Again, it was obvious that above 120 the SHO was winning the race. The vette owner knew it (and freely admitted it) and I knew it. There was no reason to continue, but I would have had there not been a car in my lane. I will make sure the next vid I shoot shows a more decisive victory.
03 Cobra, 3600lbs, 390 rated HP (but most dyno 370+). Average trap 110-113.
02 Z06, 3150lbs, 405 rated HP (dyno around 360). Average trap 112-115.
SRT10 Viper 3357lbs 500 rated HP (no idea on dyno HP). Average trap 118-121.
Ford SHO, 3300+lbs, 380whp, traps 115. Sounds about right to me, perhaps 1-2mph shy of where it could be.
My new dyno was 430whp, and with that I am expecting some better trap speeds, but when you can not apply full throttle until just before the 1/8th mile, your trap speed reflects it. I gain about 32mph on average in the last 1/8th. That is loads better than the 200lb lighter 20less WHP Vette, and loads better than the similarly powered 03 Cobra.
