This is the procedure that Walbro has approved and the one we will have to follow:

If you have a defective F20000169 pump you can send us the pump ONLY (no other hardware), we will send pumps to the distribution center and they will be replaced, we will then return them to you.

If you have a new unused pump and wish to exchange it you can return it and we will also exchange that.

Shipping here and back to you is your responsibility.

I will include a replacement filter when I return the pump to you.

Once again DO NOT send ANYTHING other than the pump, no harness, hoses, filters or rubber inserts. THEY WILL NOT BE RETURNED OR REPLACED.

If you have a copy of your invoice please include it, it will help to speed things up here. If you do not, don't worry about it, we will find it. PLEASE include your full contact info including phone number so we can do this as quickly as possible.

Walbro has asked that I extend their thanks and appreciation for your patience and help in resolving this problem.

Thanks

I will be selling them soon. Right now just looking to take care of these
Mike

We have 2 pumps at school that we will get to you on Monday...... Today was our-----1st SNOW DAY in 4 years!!!!!!:D

Looking forward to the new BB turbo that we ordered from you today;) . HOPE it gets here before CHRISTmas, if not, then a by the New Year.

Just to clarify is this the correct address?

that is the correct address, right now I would prefer to concentrate on our own customers, call your dealer and see what they will do for you, if they cannot help you let me know. Many guys sold these pumps other than me, unfortunatly I did not see much posting of how they were going to take care of their customers so I am not sure what they are doing.
Mike

Mike, is there any deadline in which to get the pumps back to you? I probably won't get a chance to remove mine until January.

Any TurboTweak customers that bought a pump from me, please return the pumps to me. As Mike said, return the pump only, no hardware. Please email or PM me for any other info.

Thanks to Mike for helping get this resolved!

I contacted Brian at Gbodyparts and he replied he has not had any returned as defective.

No we have not had 1 returned as bad or defective. I returned your e-mail telling you that our distributor would take a new unit back & exchange it for a 340. No shipping would be paid. If Mike has a way of taking care of shipping I would like to hear about it.

Mike,

If it is a NEW/UNUSED pump, do you want it in entirety in the box with everything that came in it. Or just the pump as stated in the starting post of this thread?

Also, how do we take care of the return shipping? Will we have to call to give CC info, or do you have a set rate that we can send the money with the pump?

Thanks,
Mike

shipping

No problem with paying the shipping Brian, just need to know how much. I'd like to thank you for your prompt response.

What about Racetronix? Are they doing the same kind of return for the F20000169 ?

Scot W.

I thought they only sold the 340M. That is all I recall seeing there.

Mike
Nope! Judging from these pic's your wrong! I happen to have one sitting right here with there engraving on it.

BTW. Are you following me or something?

HERE SEE FOR YOURSELF!!

Looks like a F20000169 to me!
And it's engraved RX and the date... ;)

My understanding is that this exchange program only covers F20000169 pumps produced within the past year. Prior production was not an issue.

Perhaps Mike can post the date code range that Walbro will cover under this 'silent recall' as well as any exceptions to this program?

Jack

There is no date code limit, pumps must however be actually defective or new. We will allow ample time for people to pull pumps and send them in but this will not be open ended, I am thinking March should be enought time for guys to get this done but that is not official and it will not be sooner as far as I am concerned. Shipping is the responsibilty of the customer. Personal thought, If it were me I would not accept a 340 in exchange unless it comes from Jack and is machined to fit the hangar properly. IMO that is the only other Walbro alternative to the new version of the F2000169

I have a handful of defective pumps from various vendors, please let us know when and if you can take these, I can't tell where each one came from, except the Racetronix unit.

Thanks
