Donnie went 1/4 mi on a 1/8 mi track, was all over the place, lack of traction, that thing makes some horse power!!
watched Jeff go 5.83, 5.88,5.87 all at 122mph
looked like he was going for a sunday drive, left smooth, no excitement, just motored down the track, launch was so uneventful, I wondered if he was building boost!
Donnie had backfires later, and didn't make any good runs.

watched a girl on a motorcycle go 4.95@ 128 and she clicked it early!!

Congrats Jeff! Didn't know you had a bracket car:)

I should have joined in the bracket racing program. I changed the suspension and lost 60 foot (1.39 was the best). I did get a professional picture of the launch and it showed both wheels up equally about a foot. I need more testing at another track to see if these are consistent numbers. Even though it was crowded, you could have got in a least 6 test and tune runs.

Lee and Donnie thanks for your help.
Jeff

Well I just looked at the picture again and like everything that guys try to measure in inches I over estimated. The wheels are up only a few inches. This was the first run and it was launched at 3400 rpm and about one psi. I had issues all day with getting the boost up. I finally realised that the rev limiter was set too low.

I changed the spark plugs first thing Sunday morning and the backfiring went away.
Sometimes it's the simple routine stuff that messes you up.

A lot of people were coming up to me Saturday and telling me about another fast Buick GN that showed up at the track. "Did you see the other Grand National that showed up?" That was Jeff's.
We don't get a lot of GNs at the track, so it's kinda special when another quick one shows up.

Good runs, Jeff. Keep plugging away at that tuneup.

Thanks for your help on Sat. I am getting close to my 8 sec. goal. With a
1.39 sec. sixty foot at Barona, I was able to match the eighth mile time at Speedworld in which I had a 1.32 sixty.
Here is a link to Manuel Bogosian at the recent PSCA at Fontana. He had a bad launch but a great mph of 171.

So that was Manny. I was wondering who that was. Did he paint his red car black? Or is that another car with the red car's motor in it?
