What year did you buy your 1st TR

Thought it would be interesting to see when you bought your first Turbo Regal.
I included pre 84 because there are a few of them around. Also included 06 incase this runs until then.

I bought my first and only GN in 2004.

I almost bought a 1986 GN in November of '85 but none of the GNs on the dealer lot had the G80 option. So I waited until February of 1986 to get the one I wanted. It was worth the wait.

My new 84 GN was purchased in July of 1984.
So far I have logged more than 350,000 miles of driving a turbo Buicks since 84. This is covering about 6 cars.

May 1984, I bought a 78 Regal Sport Coupe. A 4 bbl carb'ed, blow through, hot-air. I put 200,000+ miles on it during the 14 years I owned the car (2 motors, 3 trans and countless stereos).

May 1991, I bought my 1st GN, an 87 which I still own. I've had a few others since then. Always looking for another !

I must say I'm surprised that (at this moment) "pre-84" is in a 3-way tie for SECOND place with 12 votes! (?)

I bought my '84 T-Type in December of '83, so I'm one of them...I'm VERY curious as to which (if any) of the other voters bought '84's in 1983?

BTW, I still HAVE mine...

I'm surprised the % is'nt higher for 86-87. From what I remember, (even though I was too young to drive in 1986), the GN was a big hit. I have a clearly memory of my father bringing home a photocopy of an article with a picture of a new one smoking the tires. In the article, they were bragging about 0-60 in 4.6 seconds! There must not be alot of original owners on this board or at least not on this thread so far. Anyhow, I bought my first "abandoned" with a salvage title 87 Turbo T in December of 2003 and I'm still "salvaging" it. :biggrin:

Bought my 1986 GN in 1988, the owner had and drove a GNX, wife and son both had 87 GN's, he even helped me get the loan at his credit union!!!!
