Hi, I need to replace one of my mufflers (it's rusted out), so I'm trying to decide what the best route is.

The exhaust is a Hooker Super-Comp catback, and currently has the Hooker mufflers.

So, I can:

1) Go with Hooker mufflers, again,

2) Go with Flowmaster mufflers,

3) Go with DynoMax mufflers, or

4) Go with something else.

The car is a daily driver, so it can't be too loud, but I don't mind a little noise :)

I've had good luck with DynoMax UltraFlo mufflers on other cars, but that may not mean anything on a GN.

So, what would you guys recommend? If anything other than the Hookers, part numbers would help (especially if they will bolt directly in place of the Hooker mufflers, or with minimal modifications).

I would go with the hooker aero chamber mufflers. Those are the ones that came with my catback system, and I like them.

Hooker Aerochambers are just a tad louder than the stock muffler. They are about $58 each at Summit. It might be worth shopping around, maybe you can find them or something else locally and not have to pay shipping.Oh yeah, you live in Maine, prolly not. Good Luck with the GN.

I just bought one of Dynomax Race magnum mufflers from summit to use on my single shot system. From what I've read they are great for our cars, a straight thru design and not stupid loud :p .

As far as construction, they are fully welded, heavy gauge body, and alumanized.

You can buy my original Hooker super comp mufflers that I removed new from my Hooker system and instaled Race magnums on.. $40 for both.. :) Let me know

I have a pair of Max Flo mufflers that I took off of my hooker system. E-mail if your interested.

Hooker MaxFlows are the way to go. Straight through perforated-pipe construction identical to the UltraFlows. Flows 595 cfm vs only 440 cfm for the Aerochambers.

How's the noise level with the MaxFlow mufflers?

Also, what effect, if any, do any of these mufflers have on the "drone" that the car makes at around 2000 rpms?
