My daughter's 92 300zx that we bought for her 16th Birthday was t boned on the pax side. She wants to try to fix it but you can find some 300's in excellent condition with blown motors for around 2 grand all day on Craigslist. A fathers struggle. We put more labor into that car than any of my GN's. That thing is a HUGE learning curve. I have never seen so many vacuum lines, sensors and valves in my life.

Is the motor ok? Why not just get the excellent condition cars with blown motor and do a swap of all the good parts, if there are any?

I had a 1990 model and it was a royal PITA. Engine was shoe horned in there. Nearly impossible to work on.
I say pull the good drivetrain, address any of the maintenance issues like timing set, seals, etc. and drop into a good clean body.

Yeah what he said. I would not try to fix a t boned unibody car. Z32's are cheap and I would go that route. Get at least a '92. Better interior IMO and at least a DS airbag. '94-'96 are the best body wise but for the life of me I can't remember the improvements since it has been a long time since I had mine. I think it was more safety based like seatbelts, pass airbag, better calipers, etc.

Trust me, I ...... agree with all of the above statements but since it was her first car that we bought her and for her 16th birthday and she has sweat labor in it, the car is now in " I will never get rid of it but it might take me a few years to repair it " limbo. My wife is on board with her thoughts as well. Every time I bring up going to look at a roller, I get the silent treatment as if no one heard me.

If this is the case, it's probably because it's coming only out of your pocket... If the daughter wants to fix the wrecked body, she should have to pay for it out of pocket. THEN, maybe a "cheaper" alternative might seem more reasonable. My sisters kids are like this as well. Absolutely no concept of money and what things actually cost. As far as they're concerned, you should just be able to have what you want because it's what you want. (Damned kids these days!)
