I've been lurking for a while. This seems to be the only good place for info on the 2004r. I'm building a 66 Impala Convert with a twin-turbo 468. This will not be a track car. Was originally looking at a 4L80E but they're very heavy and even more expensive. You guys seem to be abusing the heck out of the 2004r.
My only concern is the extra weight of the car. About 3900lbs and 900-1000hp, will I tear it up or will it last? I don't mind paying for a well build trans but I would like it to last.... any opinions...... 4L80E or 2004R
