Just finished up installing a te-62 with PTS billet roller and 9.5" vigilante. Motor is built with girdle, steel mains, .030 J/E, FMIC, THDP, Extender chip 21* with trans +, 50's, and all the other go fast goodies. We are tuning with directscan. Stalled the car to see what it would do on the brake.. At 0 boost the convertor is 3500 according to direct scan. Under boost ,with foot stall, the convertor will climb to 4300 rpm! Is the convertor too loose for this setup for a car designed to shift at 5500-5800? It pulls good 60' time 1.6's but mph is terrible (86mph in the 1/8). Best run was a 7.9 ET. I'm wondering what kind of stall speeds is everyone else getting with a 9.5 L/U 5 disk vigialante? Any feedback from people running this convertor is appreciated.
PS, I'm also wondering about the accuracy of directscan rpm data. Hooked up aftermarket GM tach and it shows max stall at 3500 rpm compared to 4300 via DS.
