In this latest NOV issue. I use to get excited when it arrived. I know the latest craze are the LS series motors but seems we are being phazed out! I think back to the back issues to where there use to be up to 3 articles!

Hell ya i want a all turbobuick Mag. it will never happen but its still a cool idea.

Anybody ready for a TurboBuick magazine?

Heck Yeah! Have you got any ideas?Better yet, any money to start one?

I've sent my resume in to a few publishers over the years. I'd like to print some of the reasons why I wasn't hired but than you'd guys would be laughing for at least a week. I could write a couple of books on just the stuff I've written on this and the other Buick forums.

Yes I want to and can do it:wink: Color, wouldn't have it any other way. Anybody got ideas shoot them to me:cool:

I agree that it sucks that we have another GMHTP mag, and to TR stuff, but you have to realize:

- These cars are 20+ years old. That means 20+ years of articles and how to's have been written already on these cars. How many times can you do an article on a turbo swap.

- There are obviously WAY more people that read that mag that have vettes, camaros, firebirds and GTO's then those that have TR's. That is what the readers of GMHTP want.

Granted, there are some new innovations coming out for our cars that are article worthy, but GMHTP covers those whenever they come out - TA aluminum block..... covered. ESP twin turbo setup.....covered. New style intercoolers and full ball bearing turbos..........covered. I think GMHTP is doing a great job. Nevertheless..............If somebody came out with a Turbo Regal only magazine.......I would subscribe to it IMMEDIATELY!!

But there is a pic of one of my local buddy's TTA in there on the coverage of the Year One Experience and the "Bandit Run".

I chose not to renew my GMHTP subscription for this reason. I understand (as others have pointed out) that our cars are 20 years old and the other GM performance cars are going to get more attention in the magazine but it's a shame when you read cover-to-cover and don't even see a Buick mentioned once. A Turbo Buick magazine would be nice, not sure there would be enough quality content to do monthly (12) issues but maybe 6 or 9 prints in a year would be nice.

Your local buddy must have a hott foot they say inthe small print he was having to replace warped rotors from slowing down for the cops! Good to see some guys know how to push a car!

I disagree with all you nay-sayers. Not enough content? Repeats? Heck just look at all of the stuff that has came out in the past 21 years for our cars. It aint slowing down boys. If something is invented for a new car than chances are there is a way to use it on our dinosuars. I see nothing but good things to come in the next 21 years. Heck I could think of enough things to make a weekly publication.

Yeah, said he was racing another TA going about 130 mph and a popo was sitting down the road when they topped a hill...said he slammed on the brakes enough to warp and burn the rotors....cop never budged :)

2nd straight month of a huge disappointment for GMHTP magazine as far as TR coverage. I realize they can't be all things to all people with the GM EFI vehicles. Hope they are seeing this. Throw us a bone, why don't ya'??

Here's my take on this....

I have an idea that I've been kicking around for quiet sometime now. Actually since '99 and even more so when I wrote my article in Fastest Streetcar magazine back in '05.

If I were to start a magazine, it would be called Buick Performance Magazine or BPM for short.

It would not be limited to just Turbo V6 powered cars, but would include all Buick powered performance cars. GS, GSX, GN, T-Types, Turbo Ts, GNXs, FWD 3800 powered Buicks, the whole slew of them. Basically everything from the beginning to today, with history lessons thrown in for good measure. Us Buick performance people out there have been screaming for something like this for years. This is why we are so fond of GMHTP cause they haven't forgotten about us. If you are like me, I always check magazines like Dupont Registry, Hemmings, Musclecar magazines and pretty much all of them for anything that relates to Buicks.

The way I see it is this, if Pontiac can have two magazines, Mopars have 2, Hot Rods have tons, Fords have 7, Chevies have like 15 million and only one dedicated GM Performance magazine, why can't we have a Buick only style magazine. I would love to be a writer for this type of magazine, traveling around doing photo shoots, writing articles and the likes. I learned a lot from my former immediate boss Rod Short when I was at PTE. He has been writing, photographing and editing for many of the major car magazines for over 15 years. This would be our chance to really have a nice magazine dedicated to Buicks only. Different articles on hybrids, classics, show cars, race cars, race event coverage, how toos, etc etc. My ideas are endless.

What does everyone think?
Just trying to keep the fire burning if ya know what I mean.

Patrick

All Buick magazine....where do I send my money!!!

We need real tech, not stuff about old 60 turbos and promised side by side testing:biggrin: Real unbiased testing would be very cool!
