SWEET

no 7's but cruz ran 8.1x @ 176.88mph

also ran 155mph with the chute out on one pass

I would sure like to see Roy run a number.
He and Laz have been working hard.

THS is off the hook.

Sean Hayes raised the bar with a 9.80. I believe he won in THS. There was at least one other 9 sec THS car..... maybe two.

J.D. broke two driveshafts  He still managed some bottom 10 sec passes on pump gas and alky..... and ran in both THS and TAI until the second driveshaft let go.

Jason White put on a clinic in TSM..... trying for that 8 sec pass. It wasn't in the cards.... the track dead hooked then a little way out....most would spin. On the fastest pass Jason ran that I saw.... it wasn't a clean pass.... spun some....still went a 9.05 at like 152 and change. I saw him make probably 5 passes all under 9.15..... it was amazing.

A silver car I believe won TSO.... not sure who that was...

Lee Thompson ran a 9.80 with his beautiful T. His buddy Scott from Birmingham, AL drove a very clean '86 GN that had been stripped to nothing and painted back silver. That car looked so sweet with the blackout trim...... he made a couple passes.... ran a low 11 on the second pass and drove it back home this afternoon. That is awesome.

I saw Louie Lopez get it done with something like a 8.17 at like 176 or so..... that thing was working on the big end.

Josh White ran his personal best.... as did Randy Alexander....

Now that I think about it..... I believe ALL the Mississippi boys ran their personal best(s)!

it was..

so cold, that I saw a couple of Beagle hounds trying to jump start a rabbit!:D

Wow, who would have ever thought 177 was possible with stock type heads. I got to give it to Tom at Champion for a killer set of heads and to Cal for the tune on that car. Great job guys....

What happened to Sully? I was rooting for him to run some bigger numbers after I heard the 9.30 at only 143+ I figured he would turn it up some and give Jason a run for his money??

im pretty sure he broke a ring & pinion

Just got back ,geat time on friday the track was real bad. but yesterday it was there CUZ ran 8.15 at 176:87 they went for the second TSO pass the car did real bad tire shake open the chute went the hole 1/4 with the parachute open, it was cazzy the man is winner..manny won TSO his best was 8:24.. had great time..

That is the fastest ANYONE has gone in TSO trim with any kind of head:eek: Congrats Don its nice to see stock style heads on top again:biggrin:

I think that is close to the fastest that a stock type head has gone
at any weight in a door slammer. Jimmy D was in that range with
a car that was 1000lbs lighter and prostock tires.

I would love to know what Don's heads flow, but I respect
what he has done too much to ask.

John, the heads do not need to flow insane numbers. I would bet they flow at best 280 at .600 intake and 230 on exhaust.

Dons accomplishment proves the class is turbo limited at this point. So does the weight break get taken off for the stage heads now??? ;)

That is actually an interesting question.
Nobody asked me, but I would like to see the turbo rules opened up.
However I am not sure any of the participants are interested.

I agree with the turbo rules you speak of at this point. The different combos are coming into their own so at this point I would say the class needs to just be a heads up same weight (3300#) each different head type, 88mm compressor wheel, any exhaust housing type (V-band Promod, T5, T6, ect) and any size turbine wheel allowed.

I'm not sure exactly what Don has but the raised intake runner heads that went on my old car where better than that. Your right there is a lot more to it than head flow numbers. Unfortunately the new owner has yet to run the car to see what'll do with the new heads:confused:

If we didn't have a weight break for stock style heads do you think we would even be where we are today?

I agree a standard set of rules with a min weight and turbo size is all that is really needed. At these speeds I feel the min wt should be dropped to 3100 or 3200#. At this power level it would be safer.

LOL D'Alessandro's car really isn't a good comparison considering Don is probably making at least 400 more HP than he did. Even though his accomplishments at the time are still impressive today.

I give a lot of credit to the TSO racers. Few realize these are some of the most powerful Buick engines ever built and to ever run down the track in any kind of car. Yet alone a heavy, suspension and tire limited "street" car.

At Norwalk we only had Dave Fiscus and I willing to run the point series and I had an offer to buy my car so I guess that makes Dave the 2010 Point Series Champ once again, lol.
