anyone down here using xylene??

i was wanting to try this out next time i go to the track, but im a still a little skeptikal about putting paint thinner into my gas tank. and for some reason the fuel lines on my car have been relocated and changed by the prevoius owner, to aeroquip 300 PSI hose. will the xylene eat this up?? cause thats the last thing that i want. just want some feedback from someone who has actually used this stuff. thanks

I tried it with higher boost 17 psi and street timing (18 deg). Worked great; no knock. On just 92, I'd always get SOME knock.

ok so if i get to the track i will try like 3 gallons with a full tank and see what happens. hopefully i can run more than 12 PSI which is what im maxing out on now and still getting very slight KR . also where do u guys get your race gas from?? rons?? thanks again

I put in 4-5 gals. Xylene with 1oz of MM oil for EACH gal. of Xylene then fill the tank.

Put five gallons into my tank and ran a thrasher 100 at about 19 psi with alky. Car went 13.8 then got kicked off the track for no helmet. O2s were .750 at the end and 2 degrees knock. Previous best was 14.3 with pump gas and 92 thrasher with alky at 20 PSI and 4 degrees knock reading. O2s were still in the .800. MPH also went up from a 95.x to a 99.8 so there was definitely an improvement.

How much you guys paying for xylene? its nearly $8 a gallon at Dulux paint center down here in Bradenton FL ... I read "$2 per gallon" on gnttype.. liars.. !!

I spent just under $35 for a 5gal tank of xylene at sherwin williams.

TTA is fine just got the fuel pump and hotwire kit in. Got some cheap z rated sumitomos on it. Couldn't go wrong for a hundred bucks a piece. Later I will go with KDs or something. Haven't been down to the track yet. Still needs a spring cleaning. But she pulls hard as hell.
