Car Is Almost Done!!! 8.5 Is In. 56k=death

Finally got a spindle/spring combo to work. Bought the moog 5600 springs, put the stock spindles back on and it finally isn't slammed, if anything it is a little high which is good. They will probably settle once the car moves a little. The 8.5 is in, the long studs are in, haven't put the trick rear springs in which will lower the rear, and the mufflers showed up today. The driveshaft is getting cut Monday and the appointment with the exhaust shop is Thursday. This car is going to be on the street this weekend!!!!!! Can't wait to drive it. For some reason everyone around here likes to point out how superior they are- there's never been a car made that can ever be faster than one with an LC2, etc, etc, etc. You can't take it too seriously. Most of the people on here appreciate all things automotive.

That looks like one hell of a BBC - what all have you done to it? Is 468 a 60-over 454?

Yeah its cool fellas, no big deal. I am used to giving and taking smack talking all the time, no arguement here. My car should be in the mid-low 10's on motor so if you are faster my hats off to you, I am sure a bunch are. Like I said, this is my first attempt at a faster car (only had 11 sec rides before) and Im 23 btw. Don't worry Ill stick around, atleast to find me a GN for a cruiser.

Very nice car man. I'm an old Monte Man myself.

The plan for next summer is to build a nice 88 MCLS with a 4.3L and carbed blower box and six speed. That's the goal.

Like Jshilli1 was asking. Is that a punched out 454. They are awesome motors if it is. I had a '73 454 in my 75 truck that ran great until is spun a bearing. Nice Monte SS.

yeah it is a .060 over 454, all 4340 with .250 long rod and JE Pistons....solid roller cam

Did they make the SS with the split bench and the blue/white? I thought they were all buckets. It's kind of cool with the blue/white. I've seen a few of those but none that color inside.

Last one I saw was a really ratted out maroon one with marron interior. I was in a not-so-great part of Hoboken and a couple o' scary looking dudes rolled up next to me while I was fueling. When the driver got out an walked over I figured I was going to get carjacked. But no, he said he had a few GNs at home and he had put small block Chebbys, like his Monte SS, in all of them. He said I should do the same. I told him I'd consider it if he let me live. I like your idea much better - can't go wrong with a whole lotta cubes. Good luck with it.

Yeah I know about the cage deal, 11.49 around here. I know some people at Gateway and they might let it slide for a couple of passes. Its getting one.

Not a big fan of bench seats or the White interior trim, but nice car otherwise! Looks like a lot of work went into it....
