After much testing, ive concluded that my TPS has crapped out on me. Does anyone know of a replacement that will work for hotair cars around 20-40 dollars, becuase i really dont feel like shelling out 100-150 bucks for a stupid piece of plastic. Thanks,

yay, found one

Well, I searched the archives and found a Holley part #:543-29

heres a picture of what its supposed to look like:

It works the same way, but the plug comes straight out, so making adjustments by pulling upward on the sensor won't cause it to poke a hole through the hoodliner.

I went to summitrracing.com, they have the part for $34.99, but you'll have to pay at least an $8.00 s&h fee.

I went to Kragen Auto to try to order it, $46.99 was the price, but they couldn't order it becuase of their stupid computers.

Thirdly, I went to Autozone, and they had trouble looking it up at first, but finally found it at a price of $29.99. Sweet.

Remember, its a Holley part #, so Summit will have the part listed as HLY-543-29, and retail stores will have to look the part up by manufacturer.

Hope this helps anyone in the future.

Tomco SUCKS

Everything I've ever ordered that was tomco has broken. I used to have a tps sensor from tomco for this car, part # 14061, i forget the price but Poston sells it for about 20-40 dollars. The arm doesnt sit flush with the throttle peg firstly, and the WOT volts were 4.3 at best, when you want at least 4.6 v at WOT. And that was with the sensor tilted at a 60 degree angle! (which conflicted with the vaccum hoses) When i filed the nubs off of the sensor to see if i could get a higher reading, the unit broke inside because it wasnt designed to handle that much play in the arm...so now its a worthless piece of junk. Just like the tomco MAF sensor...crap!

Cheap price....cheap quality. I'd go for the Holley anyday over Tomco...just my .02.

I get a tps from a 86 or simalar year FWD car. Much cheaper but it slightly different. I have to lenghten the mouting holes to get the full voltage range out of it but it works.

i second that.. get a tps off any FWD car..

just

MAKE

SURE...

that the flapper is on the plug in side.. and not the bottom..

it will work 100% no modifications whatsoever.

Flapper is on the plug-in side ?

Huh...whadia mean ?

Say that again for me....

No I realize that....I meant how do you mean 'plug in' side....isn't the plug on the bottom ?
