Am I the only one who gets this a dozen times a night? I think it's time for a new server.

YES, ME TOO! just after I wrote a rather long post to reply to another member, I hit the "Submit" button and guess what!...I got that f***ng message and everything I just wrote was LOST!

Its because there are so many people connected to the database at one time. Once the maximum connections are reached, it starts throwing a database error.

The problem is that the sites success is also its downfall. Most sites this size run on two machines. We dont have that luxury. And truthfully, ads and vendor fees cover the bills but no one is getting rich and there isnt money left over for 2 servers. Im thinking about ways to ease the problem but without a slave server, its going to be difficult.

Ok thanx. I understand. It's not like there is 10k members any longer and it seems to grow each week.

Seems like I only get it at night sometimes. It's really not that often, just annoying when you loose everything you just typed. For a site that has no membership fees other then vendors I guess I can't complain too much.

I know we don't have fees to be members but I'd be willing to donate some cash if it would help Jay. I don't have a lot but if each of us donated $10 it could be used to get an upgrade.

27,000 people online here all at once would be like when your car is at full boost and the compressor nut falls off to waste the turbo, and a hand full of washers in the upper plenum to tax everything else.

Total and undeniable destruction.

When 300 people are online i get that abrupt slap in the face, i cant see it being overload with so few people online at the time it happens.
