Anyone tried anything like this. If you set the pump to turn on at 6psi of boost and only gave it 8 or 9 volts, it shouldnt spray enough to bog the engine, then kick in a full 13.8 volts at around 15psi of boost. I know that it would be possible, just wondering if anyone has had any luck with something like this?

ALKY VOLTZ

I think that's EXACTLY what the SMC control does. It has 2 controls:
1. Sets the on point. [Boost level]
2. Controls volume by varying the volts to the pump.

What would be cool:

An alchy controller that increased flow based on Engine RPM.......

ALKY FLOW CONT>

BOB, why not do this??
Use the SMC kit, set the pump flow to max, add the voltage control that's sold by JEGS for hi po fuel pumps on the street. Put it in the pump power circuit and it's a done deal!!:D

Something like that......

May have to try something next spring.

I'd like to use the alky for detonation reduction only and add more fuel via the chip to compensate for the higher boost/addittional air. Would the transplus, LS1 Maf and extender chip handle that fueling task with their ability to measure over 255 gm/s and adjustability? I know the O2 sensor feedback is ineffective at WOT, but what about the MAF?

ALKY

TMINER, that's all the alky is used for to begin with.
The SMC kit suppresses detonation, thus allows higher boost w/ no led prem.

I disagree. Tuning the mix will vary O2s. There are definitely BTU's in the alky. I believe that the Max Effort even has an option to pull out fuel for those wanting to run high quantities of methanol (117 octane if memory serves).

From my own experience, albiet limited, my O2s dropped significantly when I went from 100% to 50/50. I was still able to maintain the same boost but did get a little KR at same mph that the o2's hit min (~750). SOP performance seemed comparable.

Anyway, can any chip guru's fill me in on MAF feedback use at WOT. Even the effectiveness of the stock chip at below 255 gm/s would help. I recall from the old Thrasher site that they trick the ECM for over 255 gm/s by calling for a ridiculusly rich A/F ratio, so I assume that MAF feedback is used at WOT. But is it effective and will it cover a wide air flow change liek 16 psi one pass and 22 the next with no other changes.
