My 99 % original low mile GN needs a new exhaust. It still has the original exhaust but its rotting. Please see the contenders below. I want 3 inch, SS 304, and dual. I'd like it to have a little growl so i don't mind if its a little loud as long as its not obnoxious. I did a search and found plenty of information on the Pypes system and RJC but thats it.

Well lets see.... The 1] Pypes system isn't 304 ss... its the cheaper more rust prone 409
2 & 5] are the same and are 304 SS. although manufactured overseas it has been installed on a lot of cars
3] Clearly say its aluminized steel so that goes against what you are looking for
4] Cottons are 304SS and i think they are hand made by Brian but you have to call and double check with Jack

You are forgetting Jason Cramer [RJC] also.

i think you would be okay purchasing from any of OUR reputable vendors. just depends how fast you need it and how much you want to spend.

I just read that Summit sells the Pypes system in SS? I didn't forget RJC (I've purchased from them before) i just didn't see a dual 3 inch system(the kind with 2 mufflers). I've been meaning to address the muffler situation but i travel extensively so i just haven had time to address it (We have a travel ban now until the end of Q2 wohoo) so i can wait forever. Car is currently having the undercarriage painted. Budget, i dont care i just want to do it once and right.

The RJC down-pipe & exhaust are a single 3" system feeding a transverse mounted muffler behind the rear axle with dual 2.5" outlets. I was very close to buying this system, but went with the Pypes dual 2.5" system instead.

I just purchased the rjc 3'' downpipe, testpipe and 3'' crossflow for my 8600 mile GN. Im waiting for it to arrive in the mail so cant comment on it yet. It should be here tomorrow.

I didn't say it wasn't stainless.... its just a lesser grade of Stainless... its 409 as opposed to 304.... it all has to do with the amount of chromium. 304 will last basically forever... i have had my ATR exhaust for almost 15 years...

thats why 304 systems usually cost a lot more... look at Borla prices compared to Pypes... they use 304

Are those the real or original "pit bull" mufflers that come with the GN1 SS304 system? The old ATR pit bull mufflers sounded awesome.

i am sure they are not "original" pitbulls but wouldnt doubt if they were cloned/based off of the Pitbull... havent heard them personally...

and i agree ... i love my exhaust..... the quality of ATR parts were/are unmatched IMHO

I just installed Cotton's dual 3" stainless system. Fits really nice, and comes with Magnaflow mufflers. Only thing I changed on this kit, was going from the standard clamps supplied, to exhaust band clamps.

Thanks for all the input guys. I've been communicating with kirbans and they do sell the pypes kit in 304 (2 1/2"). Going to also contact cottons and get a lead time on his exhaust kit (site says they're out of stock). i hear great things about RJC's kit but i just like the duel muffler look from the rear.

well thats cool and news to me .... just double checked there site and it clearly says 409 SS... maybe Kirban has some major pull.... and FWIW unless your car sits up really high or the mufflers dont tuck right you cant see the dual mufflers.... well at least i cant see my ATR mufflers... just my HR bar, Rear End Cover and dual tail pipes.....

anyway i would just get what you like.... i would DEFINITELY buy from a vendor though.... they are the ones who continue to make and supply parts for us.... maybe if you find the system cheaper elsewhere they would match the price...

i have a cottons kit on my car with the polished tips sounds good and i couldnt be happier with the product also its a show quality exhaust system gets alot of wows looks really nice (i also have a low mileage car and only wanted the something nice looking)i dont think anyone would be dissapointed with this system

my car sounds amazing i have a 3 inch dual stainless exhaust with a 3 inch gbp down pipe and 3 inch test pipe my exhaust wasnt from a vendor i got it from muffler tech in bc true brian in think thats who makes hes 3 inch exhaust or use to it took alot of masaging to get mine to fit so in my opinion id go pypes or gn1 if your really into the 2 mufflers i personaly love the sound of mine adding the 4 inch tin man intake sound just gorguse i also added 3.5 inch stainless tips which just ad that lil bit more on the bad a s s factore

I love my Terry Houston SS Down-pipe. The open dump is awsome for spool-up! I use aluminized Hookers. They are nice for the money, but I wish I went with Pit-Bull SS...they last longer.
