What can I expect for performance out of a GT67. My new car has this turbo, Im not familiar with it.

Running, GN1s',3.5 THDP, 72 lbs., Fast, 3600 stall, rebuilt Girldled 109, PTE FMIC. And some really cold air here in the arctic.

Dennis

You can expect to kick the crap out of everything on the street

Scott Atk ran a 10.0 on that turbo and a very similar set up to yours.

With your heads and stall you can expect to roast the tires pretty easily, but that sounds like a fun combo.

I only have a 3200 behind that turbo on ported irons good times !! smoke show on the 1-2 all the time with drag radials. :D

It sounds like Scott was running this turbo up around 27-28 psi and making killer power, some members here have been complaining about hitting a wall at 24psi....must be in the tuning? I am thinking about upgrading to this turbo but having it built out of my current one which would be with a 3inch inlet 2inch outlet and Ptrim wheel.

Nope, It's true, 25 psi. is all I could get out of it.

Scott do you mean that the turbo could not go past the 25psi mark at all, even after shorting the rod or adjusting the boost controller?

If you ran a 10.0 at 25psi that would be insane

Dont know if its the same turbo.. I had Limit build me a 67 with a P trim wheel. Small shaft turbo.

Results.. in sig. They rate the turbo at 730 HP.. my math says i'm about there :)

26 PSI approx.

Thats flyin Julio, what heads do you have?

Julio if you want PM me as I have a detailed list of parts and weights and have shaved off 309lbs so far with 25 more coming soon. Your ride is a sled and could easily get you 10.2's with some dieting. ;)

Champion ported TTA irons..

Problem is that shaving weight of a Buick is way different than the TTA..

3 inch DP too..

Yes. GT6776S is what I had. The "s" on the end signifies the T04S compressor cover which is 4"inlet, 2.5" out.

and Yes, that's all I could get out of it with approx. 1/4" pull on the wastegate rod. Disconnected wastegate and wired puck shut, same 25 psi.

Thanks! That sounds fine with me. I'd like to run 10s w/o having to run 30psi. :)

Ooops, forgot about the TTA thing.

Any idea what the ported TTA heads flow??

Scott, did you ever ask Limit or PTE why the 67 would not spool anymore?

I thought it was just not efficient past 25psi, not that it has a hard time going past it.

I have similar issues with the 70. It will go to 29, but I really have to crank it to get there. My puck is right on the edge of not sealing, that's probably at least part of the problem.

I was told that's the way NGT (new garrett technology, or GT) compressor wheels are. They are known to be less audiable (quiet), and have a broader power band, but lower in the boost range. They spool quick, and flow good even at low turbo speeds, but top-out early. Garrett was thinking about the masses, not the drag racers. They made a better turbo for the street that runs quieter. Yea!

Their turbine wheels are another thing, but I have no experience with them.

Scott, what was your race weight when you ran deep 10's with that 6776s? injectors (alky?), stall speed?

also, is that a big shaft turbo?

Steve

small shaft. 72lb injectors with MaxEffort"R". I had a "0" pump Vigilante with the 67. My car is around 3500 with me.

It is the same unit we sell. That turbo is good to about 26/27 in most cases. They will go higher but not make much more power The new wheels also make more power at the same boost than the old ones. So even though some of the old wheels will go higher they will not always more power. GT6776 is a great turbo
