Had to wait until later to vote, but when I got there 1 was in line and 1 was waiting. Didn't take that long at all, but I do live out in the country after all.
Voted after work, no line really. They said turn out was very good all day long. I am watching the fallout now...it is way too close for my liking. Watching the Florida count very closely.
Voted this morning. Forty minute line and well worth it. My wife and I decided that we'd open a bottle of champagne tonight no matter who wins, just to celebrate the fact that it will be over, we'll have no more political commercials, neighborhoods covered in signs, people knocking on our door and phone calls during dinner.
Funny thing though. Even though I bitch about these things, I'm proud that we have the right to do them. Many countries don't.
Ap called my state and many other non swingers as soon as the polls closed. I realize that the ap opinion means nothing to the final tally, but when they call the whole state with 2% of precincts reporting, it's not much incentive to vote next time. It's THAT obvious who's winning half the states.
Ditch the electoral BS and i'd be voting for president every election.
I voted and it didn't matter. I live in CA and I knew it was a foregone conclusion where our 55 electoral votes would go. Things don't always work out the way you want them to. I consider it to be one of life's character building experiences. We live in an amazing country and I'm grateful for having the opportunity to cast my ballot. Many thanks to our veterans that ensure our freedom and make this possible!
