Still waiting. I was supposed to get a quote on some new castings but I have heard nothing yet. As far as the food if possible me and Tommy are going to smoke somthing. You got your car ready yet? I'll be there to watch you make a pass heads or not.

I dont know much about either one as far as which set makes the most power , but I believe that these heads were cracked and leaking water and thats why he sent them back for repair. I have heard that Champion had problems with a lot of heads cracking. Dropping a valve and doing extensive damage is one thing!! But 6 months to repair defective castings that crack for no good reason is simply ridiculous!! Why doesnt he just sell you a set of the new latest and greatest castings?? HECK after 6 months he sould give you a new set or at least make you a GREAT DEAL on a new set!!

Am I the only one that thinks this is rediculous!! WOW somebody would be FIRED!!! I have tore a lot of heads up in my time , I dont think I ever had to wait more than a couple weeks for any of the repairs!! WOW!!

Steve said it took this long or longer each time. You would think they would step up and make us a deal on new castings. He asked friday if I could borrow a set to run at BG.

I am not a TSM racer, or any class for that matter. I have been around this board for quite a long time though. I have a ton of respect for you guys that do! I hate to say it but, to hear that a vendor would not bite the bullet and cut you a deal on replacements after dealing with this known problem repeatedly is sad. He will not miss the two heads that are doing nothing other that sitting on the shelf. Then again, hiding behind the no warranty on race parts seems to be so popular these days. I would have tried to nip your situation in the bud and keep you happy and quiet. I understand you guys invest alot of time and work into your heads. Best of luck to you on your situation. I can see why the V8 conversion section is growing so rapidly.

I thought so also , especially since i hadnt heard anymore about!! I looked at his original post today and it was CLOSED!! Thats why we havent seen anything else about it. A lot of people talk to me about what I think they should use or try on their car and I usually give both Champion and TA a thumbs up as I believe they both give good performance , BUT after 6 months!! of this jerk around , I believe I have a new opinion!!

And why was the original post CLOSED anyway??? Something stinks here!!! Mike

Mike you can't go wrong with the TA's. They are a superior casting and the machine work done to them from TA makes Champions work like high school auto shop kids did it. I had two sets of them from Champion in the beginning and there was two independent comments how poor the valve job was.

Also, you don't have to spend a afternoon clearancing pushrods to work with the TA heads.

I agree Mike, how much time you going to spend on them before they are junk. I bet other people have got thier stuff why our's set around with nothing getting done with them.

Simple mistake Tom made was trying to help out and repair something that is beyond repair!

Today you were told that they need to be replaced and in fact you would get a set that where setup for me and you have not agreed to get them yet.

So decide on what you want and move on !!!!

Don, since you seem to be siding with Champion on this. If you Air freighted a set of heads to them in December and its now MAY, and 1 week before Bowling green , how would feel about that for service!! I dont believe that Ron has been told anything except "they will ship tomorrow" on several occasions. Something should have been done long before now to be good service. As far as Im concerned , if those heads are junk then a phone call should have been made in December pointing that out. If this situation had been handled correctly!! There would have been no drama. Tom has taken care of this and we are more than happy. Tom is a really nice guy with alot on his plate.
His head's are the best or I wouldn't have waited 6 months. If everybody will let this thread die I would appriciate it.
