In the old days when I messed with more Chevy's, we used to have a set of valve covers which had the tops cut out so that you could run the engine at idle without losing or spraying "too" much oil.
You could view and and listen to valve train basics easier that way, without making a big mess.
Other than the obvious, which would be to hack up my pair of aluminum valve covers, has anyone else purchased or created such a thing.
Or - and I haven't tried yet - can I idle without any valve cover on?
My mind tells me it will make a mess.
