Well I did compleat a hot rod power tour with just my car a change of cloths and $100. Gas is not cheap so I had to put in some work. It will be tricky getting home, going to be harder to turn tricks

Best night I have had in a long while and I didn't see any gayness from them. :D

Well from what I have seen, it's Austin you need to be concerned with. He's like that guy who's your best friend to your face and then when you're asleep he robs you blind. Only instead of robbing you financially he slips into your bed and starts inserting things into places they don't belong (in my opinion). I took several precautions to avoid this, because when Austin wasn't around I got the 411 from the rest of the Iowa crowd. He's a good guy, but he has his faults just like everyone else. Unfortunately his weakness is a lust for mangina. We all need to pitch in and help him through this, from a comfortable distance of course.

The first step is for Austin to admit he has a problem.

OK my only serious post in this thread, I swear:

It was good to meet some more turbo buick guys during the pt. Didn't get to hang out very much with most of them. Austin claims to be home, and claims a rediculous top speed that I need to see to believe. I'm in Des Moines, IA for the night and then back home to KS. Need to get in touch with whoever has our long hauler stuff and I will make it worth your while, you gained us 6-8 hours and allowed a leisurely stroll home instead of a banzai run. It has been announced that in '12 it WILL start in Detroit the first weekend in June and head to Texas, the in between stops will not be announced until fall. I won't be in Detroit and won't make the last day for sure due to a wedding. But I may be caught in the middle depending on route and finances. The last day or two of this tour I got really good with my wife's camera and got some great highway shots. Next year we plan to come prepared to take a crap load of pictures and hopefully get some frameworthy pictures for whoever we happen to roll with. It was a good time. C U N Twelve. LOL

These are the kind of pics i'm talking about. This was vic edelbrock in his vette. Needs a little photoshop retouching of the light and colors yet. I have others like it. Next year will kick ass.

That 159mph pull is a true statement! It was pretty rediculous being the passenger! That motor sure held up well but now I believe a piston got torched when Austin let off the throttle. It help up the whole pull but i think when Austin let off, the fuel was cut and nothing was there to cool the cylinders.

Another amazing thing was Keiths Hot Air sitting right on Austins bumper the whole pull down the interstate. That hot air sure does fly! Austin was at 24psi and Keith was at 22psi.

Good job Keith!

Ausitn, now it's time to do aome more wrenching!

on the trip home it sure was nice of jdpolzin to feed me while I was driving. I think that may have been the highlight of my trip.

he even did the airplane thing

LOL on the airplane feeding. Keith showed me the pic of the GPS today while I was picking up my long hauler stuff from him. I guess I can be witness to it now instead of being a doubter. When you sent me that text I about crapped all over the casino floor  . You got bigger balls than me, to do that.

My back is feeling better now. I can almost walk normal again. Gotta work tomorrow. :(

Sorry about throwing your back out like that, but you shouldn't try to fight it just let it happen. You will learn to enjoy it

If anyone wants to come out for Jenns bday this saturday feel free to do so. Gonna have jello shots, vodka lemondade, etc, etc, etc

What's scary is that my wife feels the same way. I get no respect, thrown around like a rag doll or prison bitch.

All I know is, I had NO CLUE we were going that fast!!!!!!!!!! And I'm pretty sure I don't wanna do it again...

It did feel like Austin had a tow strap hooked to my front bumper though!!! I gotta say, I was surprised how much that lil 'ol Hot Air had in it...:)

...I guess look at the bright side, Austin.....you helped to rust proof the front of my car for me when you blew a quart of oil outta the back of yours.... It was FU*KIN FUN THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin::biggrin:

Wow. We are all gonna need jackets in here. That post was COLD

I got this new idea. We need a comfy, roomy, unassuming power tour ride. SOOO I got the wife to entertain the idea of a wagon. Still in the research and planning stages, but looking at 81-90 electra/park avenue estate wagons. They are pretty damn cheap for a low mileage one and would eventually accept a GN powerplant pretty easily. I'm serious enough to cancel my plan to participate in Hot Rod's Drag Week in september so I can pool funding for said wagon. Wife wants a vista cruiser or Buick equivalent, but unless I stumble across a smokin' deal on an old wagon, I think it will be too much money and resto work. I can snag a Lesabre/Electra Estate in 9/10 condition for $3k or less. Then I need to visit polzin for LC2 conversion parts. :D 9 passenger capacity, could grab the whole Iowa crowd for PT and then we are ALL screwed when it blows up on the highway. Hell, with the way you queers all like to snuggle up at night, we wouldn't even need a hotel, just an air mattress  ;) :D

I got my wife to snap a recent image of me for my new avatar.....

There's been plenty of nice mid 80s wagons up here with vector wheels for around 1k. Seems like there was a 2yr span where they were all over the place. A turbo wagon would be saweeeeet!

The turbo thing would take awhile to accomplish but the wagon itself could easily be in my possession by next year's power tour. Scraping up funds now, gonna sell some more stuff I don't need and eat ramen noodles for the next 6 months. I'm pretty flexible on what model it could be as long as it's a buick and it is cosmetically pretty nice. No rust whatsoever is a requirement even if I have to drive to arizona to get it. Woodgrain would be a wicked bonus. 9 passenger is almost mandatory also. Newer bubble shaped ones with the LT1 are cool too but seem to be more pricey and an LC2 swap is more difficult, there is a 62 buick special wagon in the local junkyard that is complete but I think it's out of my budget to fix.
