Most say the Non-Lock is better for racing & the PTC brand has very little slip up top. Less weight, etc..

For all purposes if your car is faster than 11 sec or potentially going to be a quality NL like the PTC is the way to go.

The non lock is better for drag racing. Less weight and is a purpose built unit. The 9.5" is way better than the 10"

Hmmm...Didn't someone you know tell you the "exact" same thing and to get a PTC converter like he is going to do?:D And them to hear it from "The Man" himself... Your starting to act like our friend Norbit(inside joke);)

whats the difference between lock up and non lock up converters?

A lock-up has a clutch disc inside which is locked by the ecm. In OEM cars it's for fuel mileage and to reduce heat from slippage. Non locks do not have this disc.

In racing terms is goes much deeper than that but it still comes down to one has a clutch disc, the other doesn't. Once a certain power level is reached the non lock is much more durable and places less stress on the input of the tranny than the lock-up.

Have anyone used an 9 inch Coan converter? I've heard of PTC converters and i've got a lot of positive feedback definitely thinking of switching to one.:)

Coan converters are excellent .Very efficient.I know several people using them.
