That damn Passenger with the gold ring on her finger that always says I should have put my money on her new car...

We all need to remember that these cars are OLD. I think they were some of the most reliable muscle cars of the 80's, if you ran 93 octane in it. The trans and rear main were two of the first items to give problems under waranty. The ones that bought the extended 6/60 sure got the $$$ worth.;) I know one dude that had 4 trans put in and the dealer never said a word.

You do know that wasn't standard equipment with these cars. :)

I forgot about those damn nylon buttons that hold the door panel and stuff to the door... MAN those things are annoying.. they never hold until you need to dismantle the door. Then they break.

Well I'll mention them then.

Just in the third post..... ;)

My most hated part is that there isn't one in my garage........

g-bodies in general

door hinges
power window motors
Bucket seat (except olds)
the frame rail right behind the drive wheels and not covered
poor drainage system for doors
terrible leaky t-top system
lack of decent power (except TR's)
the th200r4
people who didn't order posi
wind up windows.....???? why???

lastly .........the pop can metal STEERING COLUMN!!!! insurance companies should have filed a class action suit against GM a long time ago for that inferior design.

The carb., the lack of interior lighting on the t-top cars, no cup holders, and having to pull the up-pipe to the turbo and go in throught the passenger fender to change the plugs on that side.

Oh, and the power windows. It's like watching paint dry.

Electronic touch climate control, at least in the turbo Riviera, too many parts to go bad for something as simple as heat/ defroster. Even when it does work, the response is too sloooow to go from cool to warm, though many of similar later model GMs with same type are slow.

ignition module.....coz my gn has been sitting for two months due to the module going out *sigh*

Valve covres that need to be re-re-re-tightened every other day.

The stupid 200r4 that goes out at 112k miles.
I have never heard of a GM transmission lasting much past 100k.

I forgot about G-body windshield wipers:mad:

I don't hear about this much. With so much to like about these cars maybe it's a little bit petty, but..

No wiper blade lasts a year for me. The arms hold the blades either on the metal guard or on the curved windshield. They deform, then miss large amounts of the windshield when used.

Luckily, it doesn't rain much here.

#6 spark plug...

THANK YOU. I couldn't remember if it was 5 or 6. It took me 2 beers and a LOT of cussing to get up the courage to ask my girlfriend to "help" me reinstall that #6 plug (she did it as I fumed). Funny, it wasn't that hard to take out, haha.

Lack of instrumentation paired with the impossible to read digital 85 mph speedo.

TTop cars have more wind noise with the tops on, wtf? And where do you PUT them when they're off?

I haven't had to deal with a stock fuel pump, but come on, why skimp on that aspect of an easily modable turbo car?? Maybe they were looking to make some bucks on head-gaskets.

For all the problems and complaining, loading 4 friends in the car and DUSTING almost anything on the stop-light grand prix circuit makes it WELL worth it! I love the TRs!

Them stupid clips that hold the rear wheel cylinders in the backing plate. Why did'nt they just use the bolt in ones.Hey will the backing plate and rest of the setup from a full size van rear end fit?

Terrible trunk space, for a big car.
No back seat leg room.
31/2"s and 4X10"s? Great sound from those.
Why does the steering wheel point at the passenger seat?
After a wash does the water ever quit dripping from the 1/4 windows?
They might as well put the radio in the glove box. Every time you adjust the volume/channel the seat belt gives you a full nelson.

My favorite...make the doors so heavy that no one's gf/wife can open them on any kind of uphill...or control them on any kind of downhill. Ladies love to feel trapped in a car that goes to fast. Then cook their feet with the cat. Trapped and burning...do you want to take the GN honey?

I don't see why people have problems with the plugs. I can change the plugs in my gn in 15 minutes. My brothers 97 SS camaro is a nightmare.
