Ohhhhh earl you're bustin my balls now! That's the lowest!!! But no if it is that bad I guess I'll have a little fun with it and crack open my piggy bank.

Not really. If this was a Yugo forum, you could wail on those gerbils until you learn all the ins and outs. They don't make enough power to hurt themselves. These cars on the other hand, do. The amount of time it takes to learn what not to do is greater than the amount of time it takes an engine to puke it's guts.

Agreed. And I'm sure you can also agree I'm learning that the hard way

If you have little people living in and under your intake, looking under the cover first may save you alot of time and pain.

At this point, removing the passenger cover to identify if you have a situation on that side of the engine. You have already checked the driver side. Then focus on other areas accordingly.

I dont own a hot air butt I would think that the TC bolts being removed will be much easier than the passenger cover. Then the oil filter check for debris...
If you have no debris , then you can start removing the cover. If there is debris then there will be no need to remove the cover as the engine will be coming out.

Bryan, he's got slivers under the valve cover. We don't know if they're magnetic.

I cannot believe no one asked how big the 4 girls in the back seat were.Knowing this could give some good ideas on the problem also!!:D

This is the best way to go. Easy stuff first. Look at the flywheel where it bolts to the crank with a flashlight while the converter is pulled back to check for cracks. You can cut the filter open with a good pair of diagonal cutting pliers by cutting around the crimp. Wear gloves. Then pull your valve cover and check for bent pushrods or a collapsed lifter. If all is ok, start it and use a test light to short out each cylinder to see if the noise changes or goes away. If it does, then it's a possible rod bearing. On the video it sounds like a lifter from the top, and a rod bearing from the bottom.
