The 84 Blew a headgasket...and I plan some mods:

Mild Port Job on the heads
New Valve Springs
Ported Stock intake (hollowed out)
Ported Throttle body (port matched to TA-33 Turbo)
42.5 Injectors


What type of Gain might I see from this?

Think this along with what is in my sig is worthy of some mid 12 sec passes?

Iam not sure about the mid 12's but if you do thats alsome.

Its been a while since I ran the car but:

I ran it with the stock Turbo Putting out 16psi
Stock Chip
Un tuned car
The TPS WOT voltage was too high (PIG RICH)
And the car was knocking up past the 1/8 mile marker

It ran

14.2@97
 
Get all the bugs worked out with the current combo - and max it out. Then consider more mods.

BTW - if your putting heads on it might as well do rings/bearings and a new cam while your there.
 
Not that it matters much, but the TPS wont make it rich by being "too high"..... sets a code though if too high.

Needs more turbo... ;)

I would take it back to the track with the new turbo..all tuned up...but it blew a headgasket on my (close to new) 12,000 mile motor!!!! :eek:

So...All the bearings and fun stuff are in good shape!

And with the TPS Voltage...The SES light was on just after the 60' :)

Ouch sorry to hear that.......but I'd still look at freshing it while you have it open - spend the exrat bucks now, it will be worth it later.

Yea...Sh!t Happens.....

I was pushing 20psi with the stock Turbo, and was at about 4500 RPM..and then *BAM* The turbo blew shooting oil all into the intake, and blowing one of my HeadGaskets!


If you wanna play...you gotta pay! :D
