With the combo in my sig, I have no plans of running north of 25psi.
The converter sits at a hair over 3K on the foot brake as it starts from 0 to build boost on the TE44 I have now. I want something with nice hp on pump gas on the street. I don't want this thing to not hit full boost until the end of first gear and then immediately shift to second as soon as it hits full boost. That's too much lag IMO.
I figure I'm looking at Cotton's 61 (E cover/.63 exh housing) which looks as if it's a P trim (76mm) hot side...which would lead me to believe it's very similar to the Precision 6176. Or, I'm ordering a 6776 with an E cover/.63 exh housing.
I need opinions from you guys that run these. I've searched and read and my gut tells me to get the 6776.

I would go with the 6776. The 67 has already been low low tens and high 9's in a couple of cars. It has great spool up qualities and would work very well with your converter... Keep in mind the "need for speed" will always be there and that turbo has lots of power potential. It's a great buy in my opinion....

I think you'll be very pleased!

The 50lbs injectors are going to be scary with the 6776 if you do ever turn it up unless you have alky supplementing your fuel requirement.
I will still go with the 67 but turn up slow.

6776 bb:cool:

No lag, no downsides. BUT...make sure you have a 3200 converter.

If this is a street car only and you never plan on going above 25psi the 61 may be a better choice for you. First off, the sweet spot on the 67 is 25-28#'s as I understand... Secondly like said above you are going to be close on the injectors with the 50's! Also the 61 is much cheaper and will go high 10's no problem. You need to consider the entire combonation! The 67 is one nazty turbo but you need the supporting goodies!

if your description of your goals is accurate then the 6176 would be the choice. The 6776 will make more power but will spool slower

both turbos have the same T04 p trim turbine. the 67 wheel is only slightly bigger than the 61. about 200 rpm difference in spool. your converter is appropriate for either.

the 61 is good for 680 hp; the 67 for 795 hp. running the 67 on 14.7 psi will keep you safe with 50# injectors. running the 61 at 20 psi is going to be more efficient at this level.

the turbonetics half ball bearing will spool ~200 rpm later than precisions' dual ball bearing chra. however, turbonetics is matching the 35r compressor with their f1 turbines. it's a better combo than the t04 p trim. with a t4 frame, you can get dbb and dual scroll!

if you're ready to switch to a T4 4 bolt housing...

a .58 a/r t4 spools faster than a .63 3 bolt, AND flows way more.
