My car will rarely see a track, its just a weekend toy.My goal is to run 11.0 on BFG DR's.
I have just ordered: 72lb inj, Razors alky, RJC Powerplate, FAST XFI from Cottons. After talking with him he talked me into a Turbonetics CPT66 BB instead of a 6776DBB. I am new to the turbo Buick scene and put my trust in him, just wondering what others think of this turbo as I see that there are many(if not most) people still going with the 6776DBB although availability is not the greatest with a national back-order problem.

The block and tranny and IC are stock.(for now)

New 3" DP with ext. wastegate(Tial) comming from GN1 Performance.

ANY and all comments appreciated.Feel free to PM if you dont want to post.

Thanks
Bryan

I have the CPT-61 from Cotton. I haven't got to try it out yet as I'm away from the car most of the time with work here in Nashville, but what seat time I had, it seemed to be pretty good. I can't really tell yet as I'm getting things tuned still. I can tell you that with my slightly higher stall convertor (28-2900) that it doesn't have any laggy issues that have usually been associated with bigger turbos in the past. It's a BB turbo so that helps with building boost. Without getting any tuning or track time it blows the Nitto DRs off. You may need a 3200-up stall convertor with a bigger turbo like the 66, though if you've discussed with Jack then I'd have to say he's tried them out and would know better than I would. Your eventual combo sounds promising. I have heard that the Micky Thomson DR are more aggresive than the BFG DR, I just got mine in. The Nittos where good for a 1.89 60ft, I just couldn't get them to hook any better than that with a TE44/alcy/THDP/42inj/openCutout combo last year. Good luck.

Get rid of the BGR DR....you will put your car in a ditch...traction becomes a fantasy on the street. My ET streets are slicks with 3 grooves and I can bake'em till I take my foot off the gas but at least it kinda stays straight. Those BFG DR's are gonna present problems for u.

Get a less restrictive IC to let that turbo breath. Dutt. neck or a PTE Stretch stock location IC.

Your combo sound like it'll be killer!! Here what I would change:

Get a DP with an regular wastegate puck- external is 1 more item that can go wrong.

To take advantage of that turbo, IC and heads wold be a good thing to consider upgrading.

+1 on the BFGs- M/Ts all the way!
