I need the plate that goes between the timing gear and thrust washer on one of the roller cam thrust kits. There are two styles, on where the cam gets machined and one where the timing gear gets machined. I can use either one. Just let me know what you have and how much.

I have these parts and a key not shown.

I need the part shown on the far right in this picture.

The cam retention kit from TA is similar to the Danny-Bee kit used on most stage blocks.

It does require the cam to be machined, but I far prefer that more than machining the cam gear. The plate bolts to the block, and does not ride on the timing cover.

It appears you have the ATR cam retention set up which also requires machining the cam nose.

Try Dan at DLS.

I just thought I would see if someone had one laying around. If not, I'll get one from DLS.

My only problem with the Danny Bee retainer is drilling and tapping the holes in the block. My bridgeport doesn't have enough room to set the block on end so i can use the digital readout to lay out the hole pattern. My engine guy doesn't have a mill big enough to do it either. I need a mill with a riser and I don't know anyone local with one. I could make a jig with drill bushings, but using the roller bearing retention seems easier at this point. What are the advantages/ disadvantages to the two types of retention?

Mike that is the precision setup, part number as shown below. I run it on all my motors no issues, but I have no spares and I am looking for more myself.

If the plate wasnt cut for the cam set you have you may need to alter it some. Ive made my own a couple times because the nose of the cam was cut a little different than the one it was used on previously. Ive also had to cut cams a little further too. Checking everything carefully before you button it up is more important than anything.

Norbs send me a blueprint and ill have some made for a small fee.

Thanks, Meanmike and Bison, just too cold to tear that motor apart in the shop this w/e. I'm staying inside. I'll get to it when it gets above freezing.!
