Used to hear stuff like "I am building a fully-blown small/big block for my____". As apposed to partially blown??? Never understood where this crap came from. I used to hear it a lot when I had my tunnel ram on my 327 in a Monza. Like I was supposed to be afraid.

Exactly! That drives me nuts!

I got a FULL Art Car torque Converter!!!!!!

Got to admit that a full is better then a 3/4 race cam.:biggrin:

I at least want my cam to finish the race......

"Engine was built by a very knowlegeable shop, don't remember who it was though."

"Only the best parts used in the rebuild"
" I lost the build sheet"

Lets take this more recent.

I took my car in for warantee work ... had a scheduled visit in 2 days.

I got the car back with a DAMAGED ( ripped ) interior with proof (lets say they PEELED off some leather ... and it was laying on the floor ) .

I have emailed them 5 times in 6 days ... 4 business days ... and guess what? NO REPLY.

I try to use email , because crap like this makes me INSANE , and I cause a public disturbance AND increased stress levels.

I seriously think I do my best, but I usually end up leaving in handcuffs ---

"never seen rain or snow" These cars were built in Flint, I bet they have seen rain or snow.

How about my favorite "Show quality!" Yeah, maybe if the f'n car show was in Cuba. Then I might get Honorable Mention for participating in the Black 1987 Buick category.

How about "RARE"..........dont even get me started on this one.
That's the best "overused" term I can think of.
You should enjoy this craigs ad, then:
1984 Buick Grand National. Only 2000 built in 84, which makes it one of the RAREST. (caps added by me) see Musclecarclub.com - Muscle Cars - Buick Grand National and Regal T-Type All original, paint wheels etc.. Does not run. Needs turbo work to make run. Engine is complete and original. Never wrecked. Excellent car for restoration. Some rust on floor boards and quarter size rust spots on doors. No rust on rear quarter panels and fenders, none in trunk. Interior is complete original, in fair condition. Brother in law owned since 6 months old. Possible trade for k5 blazer, chevelle, corvette, challenger, charger, camaro, camino, nova, bel air, rod or race. $5500

not a selling pitch. but a buying pitch everyone wants pics. like you don't know what a MAF looks like. as if you can see a problem in a pic.

Or "It went low 9's on low boost." Meaning, I have turned it down from 35 PSI to 29 PSI. Yea, ok.

Or "It went 135 MPH so it's a 9 second car." Well, actually it's a 9 second car when it makes a 9 second pass with a time slip. G-Techs don't count either.....

Brett, that is sooooo true.

"Should run 9's"

"Lots left in it"

"Beat my friends 10 sec whatever"

another one of my favorites.

All of the above are also phrases everyone hears at the track.

My personal favorite back when I was in highschool was, this car has a 350 Vette motor wih a full race cam. My friends and I heard this so often we started asking guys with Corvette's what the engine in thier car came out off:wink:

No kidding, I've about had it with taking pictures for peoples collections and never hearing back from them.

I think everyone in high school has a buddy who has a Vette motor with a big cam in their car. I can think of 3 when I was in high school who claimed their cars were Vette powered. I always thought it was funny becuase I ran a 350 with 305 heads on it in my Monte. People thought I was crazy! I knew I could beat their Vette motor though!

Back in high school before I got my iroc (they like money just like TRs, just slower:rolleyes:) I looked at a nova my stepdad tracked down for me.
"the car runs great, real solid body, and has a built 71 camaro motor in it"

Yeah it ran, and it smoked when started up. The body was solid, solid BONDO:eek: Half the interior was in it, the other half rotted away or got ate by mice. I'm sure it did have a camaro motor in it that was built in 1971 though.

All this reminds me of this guy I know. Has a GN, claims it pushes 1103 hp but he's too afraid to turn the boost up:confused::eek::biggrin:

We always thought that there must have been a lot of lonely 'vettes out there missing engines. Everyone's boat or truck around here had a corvette motor in it:D

Don't forget "matching numbers" I see this everywhere.

I think there are more 427 '67 Vette's for sale at any one time than GM ever made! (All matching numbers, of course!) Not picking on '67's, it's always been my favorite year.
