Silver Turbo Regal in pump gas/DR shoot out in Hot Rod

Just saw this in Hot Rod, It didn't get to compete because of a burnt plug wire :frown: but it was chosen to be in the 50 car field. SUPER nice car that I saw in another mag awhile back.

Curious to see what it would have run?

Yeah it was Jim Lauers(sp?) car, I was curious too. Might have gone low 10's on pump gas, hard to say?

Isn't that a S2 headed 88 car?

With traction and good air I would think high 9's?

Supposedly that car has been sold. One of my customers said he bought it recently. BTW, why would a burnt plug wire keep you from competing? Should have been easy to find another one don't you think?

Too slow for the top 25 cars I guess but not too slow to "compete".

I saw a mention of water injection on a few cars but I guess alky would have been a no no?
