So we put together a motor for his Grand National.
It consists of a all original 65K miles bottom end
Comp 212 roller car, Champion aluminum heads ( cleaned up-not race ported)
stock ported intake 66-68 turbo, 3.5 downpipe,4" RJC exhaust.
PTC 9.5 convertor on 29x9 slicks and skinnys.
Front mount with ALky on C16 fuel.

Car made 609 RWHP at 25-26 #s.

Here is the poll

What track will you be at?

I vote he starts on a 9 second pass, gets distracted by a blonde in the stands, scrapes the last 150 feet of the wall, ends up with mid 10s and a need to do bodywork.

I'm not going there to run 10's. The last 3 selections are the only realistic ones. It will probably make 27-28psi on the pavement. 9.89@136.9mph

Someone needs to video this.

Hopefully it runs 9's, 'cause I have a very, very similar project going together...

9's FTW!! You got the power. I know you can drive (yes?). As long as the track plays nice, it's gonna happen.

You have my respect already, first time to the track on a stock bottom end run 9's and you will simply amaze me.... Have you ran this car before with a different engine? I now understand what it takes to do that with a full weight car, I can't wait for the results! Good Luck!

I havent made a fullnpass in a long time. The last engine I had in there bad mid 9 sec power. I hurt #1 @ 900ft. Rolled to 10.2 with a 1.8 60'

Since you guys have excellent tuning skills it will run the number and stay together. I had 100+ 10.50ish passes on a 72,000 mile stock shortblock with nothing done to it to make it better just a cam and good heads and intake

We ran Chris Hogeland's car very similiar to this car. Stock crank and rods with TRW pistons, out of the box GN1's, 212/206, Limit P trim 70mm, Precision front mount, 9.5 converter. It went 6.2's at 112-114. I'm sure that's 9.80's.

It should see the 9.80-9.90s with that power / weight / tire. I notice there is no "9 sec passes then drive on trailer" option :)
