That was still awesome IMO.... Great job guys. Goes to show it doesn't take a 100K to go fast! Thanks for the inspiration!

Confucius say:.....Junk fly's. (Just never know for how long)

A real man would have needed that shovel......

I think bottom tens proves it's point to most, but the 9.99 would have been sweet and driven the point home.

Aaaa, who needs compression. Just need a little more boost to compensate.

My bet's on a cracked ring.

Keep us posted.

Perhaps the poll needs a few more selections: (cracked ring, cracked/burnt piston, head gasket failure, bent valve, torched head, broken valvespring .....)

:)

I really like stock "junk" . Just don't cry when it goes BOOM !! People always ask me "what if it blows up?" Everything is goin to blow up sooner or later. :p

The best is when you go 1.5 seconds faster than them with the said junk than others have with much more expensive non junk parts. If it breaks it breaks. If it exploded oh well. I have 2 other "junk" shortblocks I could throw in and two girdled steel rotaters and a stage 2 soon enough. What if it breaks. I really don't care. I'm racing and expect breakage. If you race and don't expect to break then you should find another hobby

I told this to many customers way back in the 90s. A few actually sold the car:p I had Melissa's old tranny that she ran 10.10 with. It just had an Art Carr drum. We beat the hell out of it. Well we did a wiz bang one with all the billet stuff so the old one sat in my parts depot. Good friend with a mid 11 TTA needed a trans so I let him borrow it till I got his done. He broke it just driving around !! Well thats what he told me

BRIAN / OTTO / GNBRETT

Looks like Brett's reverse fanny pack is making Otto's nipples hard. Or am I wrong?

Otto, Brian, nice to finally meet you guys! Brian, your exactly right. It's not if it breaks, it's when. I tell all my Chevy buddies, if they had half the horsepower of my six cylinder, they wouldn't make it for ice-cream!! I got back home at 2AM.. Work at 7AM... Keep us posted on what happened. Phil.

This is the black car. I doubt I'll ever run the blue car again. No bar in that one and I already know what it will run. I'm hoping the engine stays together. If it does there will be no disappointment. One thing I can assure is that it's not going to run 10's and go back on the trailer. So far 12 people are wrong.[/QUOTE

Is this the car you're bringing to Noble to race me?

Phil Engle

Please tell Me that's not a fanny pack. Guys , Please. Its 2011. No Fanny packs or sweaters tied over the shoulders. Ask any HOT chick & they will tell You. You'll hit 9's next time. Must have been jinxed by the pack.

Perhaps but you won't be running against the same engine.

Brian, didn't you rip apart a stock piston once before from high RPM? My vote is cracked piston. :D

Hey, gotta have somewhere to hide your gun at the track when your wearin shorts! You know how rowdy them Buick chicks can get!:;)biggrin:......or the pissed off ricers!:p

I've cracked them before. Over 600whp everytime. Not from high rpm. From cylinder pressure over time. Wrist pin bore from the high pressure leads to failures.

the fanny pack and the rolled sleeves showing his big guns just kills me..LOL

I have a guy with a rod knock but it's only audible when the motor decells. Oil pressure is good. Got to be wrist pin.

I doubt it's a wrist pin. Probably a bearing. You could have several wasted rod bearings and still have good pressure.
