I haven't heard this question asked and/or answered.
You claim if you drive the car any length of time to have any diagnostics done, you fear it will run out of oil. This fear being the fault of Steve V.
Have you actually had to add any oil to the crankcase since you got the car back ?

Again, we all know you won't take your car back to Steve V, so let's get to the jist of the issue{s}. Why can't you get that?
How much oil, if you don't mind my asking? Did you spend 20 minutes and 30 dollars at Harbor Freight buying leak down test kit today?

If the leakdown test checks good, what would you say could be the cause?

And you can here it rapping hard. My dad is 81 and can here it across the street.
Regardless of the leakdown,I think the finish and shape of the cylinder walls is the cause.
There's no doubt that combustion gasses are getting into the crankcase. The reason I say cylinder walls is because the shape and finish of the walls determines the ring seal. You can't blame it on the rings.
